To survive among big number of altcoins, Asiacoins needs a website with a basic info.
Official website thecoin.asia ceased to update links in Autumn 2014 (almost all links are dead) and last post (devoid of any meaningful info) from January.
Recently on this thread user OrIN actively and intentionally refused to update this site as to provide live links.
As to me, feels logic of OrIN is flawless as follows:
1.Emperor of Asiacoin must be Chinese (because of Asiacoin name - obviously this is logical assumption)
2.Emperor of Asiacoin must be OrIN (because there are no more Chinese candidates - all other Chinese members of cryptic Asiacoin
Foundation disappeared from cyberspace long time ago without any warnings and without leaving any contacts)
3.Everybody must be obedient to Emperor (absolutely logical)

But, leaving joking, Asiacoin really need some website in order to survive.

Preferably providing content for a website should be done by a team of community members.

There are several available website addresses relevant to Asiacoin (strangely quite a number of links with Asiacoin in page URL
are occupied and paid for). Recently have booked URL's asiacoin.cc and asiacoin.info

very seriously thinking of creating a short informative website on one of these addresses (or another address)
if anybody could take part in content creation for this website, please reply

yeah it would be nice if cryptsy kept their stuff together a lot better, but they still do good volume on lots of coins so hopefully they'll do better... last week I had to wait for over 50 confirms on a btc deposit, then the other day it was back to normal.

I haven't been able to sync my AC wallet for awhile and have been meaning to ask if there was an update I missed or nodes I could add?

I'm using wallet v2.0.1.0

couple of days ago syncing error from Micryon wallet was repaired

https://sourceforge.net/projects/asiacoin/files/25.05.2015%20syncing%20bug%20fixed/

before latest version (2.1.2.0) - easy syncing was nearly impossible, had to use recent blockchain or switch internet out/in couple of times

restarted the wallet from scratch (saving .dat of course) having to restart it a bunch to keep it sync'ing... any chance of a bootstrap download somewhere?

wallet dl on the OP still isn't updated, when it does you guys should add a link for a recent bootstrap  (updated at least once a month)

I don't think a website is as important as an regularly updated ann page Wink but of course a current website would be awesome

blockchain at block 547635 link : https://sourceforge.net/projects/asiacoin/files/blockchain/
for easy start and syncing of Asiacoin client, put in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Asiacoin only five files

  3.blkindex.dat

at Comkort exchange Asiacoin markets open

even market Asiacoin to fiat USD

https://comkort.com/trade/ac_usd

also BTC

https://comkort.com/trade/ac_btc

as to Comkort exchange - do not see any major complaints on Bitcointalk

quite possible this exchange does not have much popularity because of latency and delays

at Asiacoin page https://comkort.com/cryptocurrency/asiacoin  there are delays in getting blocks of some minutes

but do not see any complaints that any funds are lost

edit: sorry, but we will have to repeat this only working exchange link at every Asiacoin last page, as due to Maestro1 absence we cannot fix dead links on OP page, and quite a number of users consult OP page and then the last page

is Maestro1 gone for good or just on vacation? would be nice to have the op updateable, would suck to have to make a new ann page since this one has been open for so long

why not make a new ANN?
it could be the full package:
with a new wallet release, a new website and some other gimmicks + some translations into asian languages...

received answer from Bter support

explains why Asiacoins is still frozen at Bter

Bter has problems why on main page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=595999.0

is still shown link to github.com/micryon/asiacoin-bc

Dear Sir,
We received the update message earlier . However we have a question about the address provided for the update .

Would you please inform us why the address for the github was different?

The thread said it was:
https://github.com/micryon/asiacoin-bchttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=595999.0)

while the git said it was : github.com/asiacoin ?

in case user OriN who is only one contactable user who has passwords to page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=595999.0
would update this page ( this page seems as not updated since around 12 months ) , bter would update Asiacoin without problems

bitcoinn: I do not have access to update the OP page. Maestro1 was the one who started this thread, not me.

I see 2 available solutions:
1. 1 brand new thread and update all exchanges and other websites that track altcoin prices of the change.
2. Get the developer to do a pull request for the master fork on https://github.com/micryon/AsiaCoinFix. I might be able to merge the changes to the recognised branch.

Option 2 might not be ideal in the long run but it should be a good stop-gap solution until you took over all the social media and also the website from me.

Some response to your writing.

just some particulars addressing some points of your thinking

speaking here of hard naked facts, and submitting some unanswered questions:

1.as to control of Github of any coin :
-do you know who has access to Bitcoin's github?
-why this info is never has been published officially?
-according to net rumors, Bitcoin's github has five people with direct push access

2.do you think if Bitcoin project can finance alleged five developers (who have allegedly push access) according to web rumors
then Asiacoin which is project 30.000 times smaller ( thirty thousand times smaller ) also can finance five developers ?

Is it true that as for today, even Bitcoin project cannot finance anymore five developers and all five developers has been fired?

3.do you think that non-developers and people who do not understand coding should be given push access to Asiacoin github ?

-for instance, people who cannot understand the difference between c# and c++ languages ? here i remember that OriN said on Bitcointalk
 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=595999.msg10152125#msg10152125
quote: ''The developer should be someone proficient in C# which is the source code that the wallet was coded in''

4.what actually signifies mentioned ''individuals ready to manage Asiacoin github''?
  quote
''Anyway, I am agreeable to hand over the website access if the Github is managed by individuals, not just 1 single entity known as 'Asiacoin' ''

for instance:
-who is donating his time to Asiacoin matters, Asiacoin development, Asiacoin marketing? are there any names ?
-who is donating money to Asiacoin matters, Asiacoin development, Asiacoin marketing? are there any names ?
-who is active on this thread giving advices to Asiacoin matters, Asiacoin development, Asiacoin marketing? are there any names ?

5.Who is actually Asiacoin Foundation ( so much spoken of) ?

-Does it exists ?

-does it is incorporated somewhere on Earth ( maybe on some tropical islands ? Vanuatu ? )

-does it have official governing body registered somewhere on Earth?

-does it has tax exempt status?

-where this foundation is filing tax reports?

-why almost all members of ''Asiacoin Foundation'' disappeared mysteriously long time ago, without leaving any trace and without aby warning?

-what actually did ''Asiacoin Foundation'' to prevent price slide of Asiacoin which has occurred at the times when ''Asiacoin Foundation'' was fully ''active''?

6.is it true that at the most ''active'' period of ''Asiacoin Foundation'' Asiacoin price has fallen from 800 to bottom of below 40?

7.is it true that only after Asiacoin Foundation ceased to be active, and members disappeared mysteriously, price started picking from 40 to over 150?

8.strangely, cryptsy blocked asiacoin update, after initial response from Mullick ( quoted here on this thread ) was that he will update ASIACOIN IN 15 MINUTES?

who actually might contact cryptsy and put pressure to not to update Asiacoin?

9.quote :
''Anyway, I am agreeable to hand over the website access if the Github is managed by individuals, not just 1 single entity known as 'Asiacoin'. ''

-actually, not needed is full website access :what kills Asiacoin - almost all official links on Asiacoin official page are dead and misleading, some links dead from mid 2014

combined with dead ANN page this gives clear impression that Asiacoin is already dead

and - update of these links could cost maybe 5 minutes

good reference to this behavior would be to consult this URL : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extortion

props to ORiN - i like your attitude. Smiley

no props to comkort those scambugs or scumbags? i get confused sometimes.

basically they take your btc and if you are lucky(!) they let you trade your coin for a while and... now they cry they have to close shop.

disappointentment is the wrong word for what i feel. rather "gnarl" or "f-off"

anyway, positive vibes here...

i will stick around to help asiacoin.

bittcoinn you have been in touch, you can count on me.

i can contribute website, graphics and translation into some asian languages since i am operating from lovely taiwan at the moment.

keep me updated.
