By 'integrate' you mean they are probably add some provision fee for all bitcoin transactions. Or you will need to pay some $ just to use bitcoin transfer system via PayPal.

With the fees paypal has, I don't think small transactions to buy/sell bitcoin are all that attractive. Anyway, ya'll might wanna try localbitcoins.

Fees have always been outrageous. Hopefully a GOOD decentralized market comes along (that won't get shut down by the Feds) lol.

The real problem at this point isn't the tech, as it could be implemented, even in a basic manner, it is the viability of having the range of items that eBay have without mass adoption. So far, you'll be lucky to transact at all in btc, let alone have an average joe install some decentralized market exchange.
As always, with eBay you are paying for the exposure to both buyers and sellers.

I'm thinking, how about we do some kind of online-uprising against PayPal and their bullshit? It doesn't cost $14 to transact $100.
How about we DDoS for a change? With layer 7 shit. That would do something, just DDoS to slow down or hit off the site until they listen to us.

I'm pretty sure Paypal has grown into a monster by now. They are pretty resilient.

Ebay is a ripoff with fees but then I realized amazon charges almost the same. The only nice thing with ebay is a lot of people will pay a lot more than an item is worth depending on the item. I sold items that cost 200 retail for 240. After fees and shipping my netgain was still over 200.
Certain things sell for more on eBay, cell phones/electronics especially. I've found books, especially textbooks go for more and way faster on Amazon too. But I think Amazon's fees are actually higher than the 10% eBay takes. It might even out though after PayPal takes 2.9% Any centralized marketplace like amazon or ebay is going to take a huge cut out of your sales because people trust them and because they attract a huge amount of volume of buyers to their site. Part of the fee that you pay is essentially your budget for advertising. Another good example of a marketplace that charges huge fees: stubhub.com. They have you price your tickets a certain price, will take a 10% commission from that price and will charge a 15% markup to the buyer from your price for a total of 25% (I may have the commission and markup reversed but the point still stands) I stopped using ebay years ago because of the ridiculous fees involved. Also having to pay a percentage on the shipping fees charged to the customer also. Was about 15% at the end of the day plus then you lose 4% off paypal also... So 20% tax in total.
Sothebys and Christies have huge fees as well but such as Ebay they allow you to find easily customers that will pay more than what you will get in most other market places; I consider the fess as their huge take on the premium they get you

Our solution is almost ready to go. You can see it here - www.onewallet.ioIt's a bitcoin wallet and marketplace combo. You do not need funds in your account to purchase from the marketplace - an external wallet can be used. You can also auto-forward any payments received from selling an item on the marketplace. All listings are legitimate but it is still relatively early days regarding testing. Please contact me with any bugs you find.

Also check the pricing by us.. cheapest electronics you'll find! The name alone suggests it's more of a wallet than a marketplace. Note! OneWallet will investigate each buyer protection claim. This investigation may take up to 3 weeks before a resolution. The resolution may elect in favor of the buyer or seller based on our investigation. I know it's difficult to prove who is lying, the buyer or seller, but I hope you don't turn into another ebay/paypal and just side with the buyer for everything. I really don't like the name, if I was looking to sell my goods for bitcoin the last website I'd think of selling it on is "onewallet" Why make people enter their first and last name when signing up? A lot of people will just put fake info anyway. How about adding a "sort by feedback" option? I'm personally not going to buy from anyone until I see plenty of positive feedback. I only see one major seller and can't even view any feedback left for him. If you're going to run a bitcoin marketplace, buyers need to be able to post feedback for each transaction, and rate it, so future buyers can see what to expect. I hope it becomes popular, good luck.

Hi solitude, thank you for taking the time to write this up. I really appreciate the feedback. The name alone suggests it's more of a wallet than a marketplace. We will actually be offering a fairly robust wallet solution in the near future. We are aiming to have these features done by end of Q1 2015. These features include multi-sig wallets, multi-sig invoicing and some very big plans that are still too early to discuss. I agree that currently the brand is less than ideal, though once we've reached our vision it will all make sense. We are looking to provide a beginner-friendly wallet as well as a place for our users to trade bitcoin for goods and services. Right now we are definitely more a marketplace than anything else. Our currently integrated wallet is basic but does the job.
Absolutely agree. We have absolutely no plans to mimic how PayPal handles disputes and are being very diligent in approving BusinessVerified merchants. How about adding a "sort by feedback" option? I'm personally not going to buy from anyone until I see plenty of positive feedback. Great idea. Will discuss it with the team. I only see one major seller and can't even view any feedback left for him. If you're going to run a bitcoin marketplace, buyers need to be able to post feedback for each transaction, and rate it, so future buyers can see what to expect. A feedback summary is displayed across all product listings. You can click this feedback for a more in-depth look. For example see this page. Click the 0 next to 'CoinsForTech' in the listing details and you'll see where detailed feedback can be viewed. Unfortunately no merchants have any feedback yet. It's a chicken and egg problem!

Closed my ebay account years ago, believe it or not but the fees never used to be as high as they are today, they just got way too greedy. Final straw was getting a huge chargeback. Cryptothrift is a decent alternative but it doesn't have enough buyer/sellers, hoping services like Open Bazaar will take over centralized marketplaces.
