Occasionally eBay will run an event where they waiver Final Value Fees on items listed on that day. I recently took advantage of such a day and saved a nice amount. It makes a world of difference!

There have been times where I have sold an item for £18 and only received £10.50 after costs. Obviously there are people who sell things and end up making little, or perhaps even a loss!

Thats great information cryptopher, never knew Ebay did that. Do you know if Ebay advertises these events? I don't go on there very frequently but maybe I should.

someone make a fuckin bitcion auction site ffs

There is one: cryptothrift. I'm sure there'll be many more that spring up as well. FTC also has an eBay-like marketplace on their site.

Cryptothrift is a good site, and I wonder why more people don't know about it by now.
I will be shopping there again, ASAP.

didn't hear of cryptothrift before. i will definitely have a look now as i am tired from ebay and their fees. people start to look at alternatives to avoid dealing with ebay.

Selling on Ebay sucks.

Buyers there will often overpay for items, so even though you pay more in fees than elsewhere, you can still earn a lot more, too.

Lost waaay too many $$$ from Ebay's extortionate fees, final straw was having a large payment reversed by Paypal.

Back in the day, the fees were nowhere near as high as they are today. This is exactly why we need marketplaces like Open Bazaar.

Fees aside, Ebay is very biased towards buyers. You are in a world of hurt if a buyer gives you negative feedback or a chargeback.

It will be interesting if they do enter into the Crypto Sphere seeing how they have taken out the appropriate patents.

The fees charged by ebay in the early days was more reasonable. The Paypal fee is also too high. One reason I sell on ebay is to let the user to better use my items.

Ive been selling on Ebay since 2009.
Recently Paypal held a small payment from a sale i made for 6 days.
The buyer opened a complaint saying that i never shipped an item even though not only did i ship it, but provided a tracking number to the buyer via email. (I was away from home and had someone ship the item)

I forgot to add the tracking number on the actual auction page and therefor Paypal said they needed to "hold" the funds until they could make sure the buyer got what he paid for.

Literally 24hrs after the buyer opened the complaint, he closed it and left me positive feedback.
Paypal still held the funds for another 6 days.

It wasnt until i threatened to close my PP acct did they release the funds into my balance.
There isnt another company on the planet that i hope goes bankrupt more than Paypal.

Look at the money these a**es make!!  At any given time, there are 15 million auctions on eBay.  If they close 10% of them a day, collecting payment and finishing the transactions, they will make over $40 Million dollars a day.  This only takes into account the 10%.  And they say that they need to increase fees, etc.  I stopped selling there years ago and I will never go back to selling there.  They are just big bullies playing middleman and making a killing doing that.

Soon your expectations will come true, already heard that few bitcoin sellers were accepting bitcoin. If entire eBay group accept bitcoin the transaction charge will surely gets reduced.
