Yes I know, you need the new release that fixes it, I'm going to release it in few days (I hope). Unfortunately it's not possible to add them by yourself, to calculate profitability the difficulty and reward for the coin is needed and I didn't find any public API with these informations available in internet, so for each coin you see now I brought up a coin server with a private API to get that info.
Looking forward to trying out the new release!

Hi to all! First I have to say that I'm totally new to all regarding bitcoin mining. I bought Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, and GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 and USB hub with self power (900mA) I try all different ways to start mining, but non of them works for me (I'm doing something wrong for sure ) Few days ago I found Minera and I was hopping that I will get mining started finally but I was wrong I did all the steps and when I insert SD card into RPi in booting section I get this error "[FAILED] Failed to start /etc/rc.local Compatibility. See 'systemctml status rc-local.service' for details."And when its all done I see a line What I did to fix this was: 1) Login with the minera user (default password is minera) 2) Use nano to edit the rc.local > sudo nano /etc/rc.local Added a # comment to the lines that get the IP and echo it: # Print the IP address _IP=$(hostname -I | tr -d ' ') || true printf "Connect to http://%s/minera to manage Minera\n" "$_IP" printf "Happy mining!\n" becomes # Print the IP address #_IP=$(hostname -I | tr -d ' ') || true #printf "Connect to http://%s/minera to manage Minera\n" "$_IP" #printf "Happy mining!\n" I only got this problem when I was on wi-fi, but commenting those lines above fixed the rc.local not loading. Additionally, you could add a sleep there. Thank you! I finally start mining but I had to get freq to --gekko-2pac-freq 50 Is this normal? Can I increase freq somehow? Thx

was it ok to download the minera-developing version testing it now . I got it to install .
works good no bugs so far my A6 seems to run better i don't use the soft ware avalon gave us at all , i like how they don't force us yet to use just there software and controller like bitmain and Innosilicon does with there miner and i think Innosilicon never use to till there A4 Dominator .... i have one and gonna buy one of the orange pi one controllers sense they stuck me with a old out dated RPI b the first one which a lot of others got that can't be updated... i guess they had old stock they needed to move so they stuck a few of us with that RPI and gave everyone else the orange pi one which do run the miners better . I might be able to install minera on one sense they use a OPENWRT type ui on a Ubuntu/Raspbian type OS an not a full openwrt OS .

Hello, I want to ask if someone tried to use the Minera 0.7.0 with Antminer L3+? Will there be a new version of the Minera and whether it would support the option of mining devices of another type of Cryptocurrency?

L3/+ uses proprietary miner software I don't think it's compatible with Minera.

Looks pretty simple and have very nice options too. I'm not mining BTC anymore, but I'd use it if I would continue mining. Keep up this good work.

Minera 0.8.0 is almost out!
Hello, by this weekend I'd like to release the new Minera version, nothing special but it has some bad bug fixed and it runs latest Raspbian release with PHP7.0.
For this reason you CANNOT upgrade from a previous version. To upgrade from a previous version you should upgrade the system (dist-upgrade) before and then try to run the upgrade script, but I don't recommend this and if you want to try do a backup before.
So to enjoy new 0.8.0 you MUST download the new image file and flash it in your SD Card. (Still not available, I will update this thread when ready)
If you want you can export settings and import them. If you have ads-free Minera you should still have it also if you format your SD Card (it's important it resides in the same raspberry/system), but for backup, If you can, write down your current Minera ID before you use the new release.
I also introduced a new miner Ccminer for GPU but I didn't test it yet. Of course you can't run it with a Raspberry, you need an install on Ubuntu where your GPUs are. You could use it for Monero coin for example, hope you can give me some feedbacks.
Any other miner was upgraded to latest version.
I hope you enjoy it. It's on the way.

can we still do a manual install i installed the DEV version using the Ubuntu.sh script , it worked great I'm on the DEV version 8 now it seems fine or I like how it works ... why i ask is i like UBUNTU more .....an most of my PI's are not RPI.
cya
PS: to anyone that is using Ubuntu 16 with minera 7 now upgrading won't be a issue because your all ready @ php7.0 you can't install minera 7 on ubuntu 16 with out editing some files so the minera install.Sh script installs minera 7 on 16 ubuntu with php7.0. but like Mich said that's up to you .
Me i all ways do a clean install of everything when a new version comes out of any major software with a new OS ..

Of course you can, the problem could be only with Raspbian old versions (Minera < 0.8.0) and Ubuntu < 16.04, for example if you have Minera on an Ubuntu 14.04 you cannot upgrade Minera (you could but I don't think it works), because packages that new Minera have to install there aren't in old OS (like PHP7). For the other guy, no Minera doesn't support Ethereum.

Thanks and keep up the great work have been looking forward to the new release for months now 0.8.0 Image is currently uploading, so no you have to wait I will post when image will be available Upgrade from an old version is difficult, because you have to upgrade the raspbian/ubuntu version before ( https://linuxconfig.org/raspbian-gnu-linux-upgrade-from-jessie-to-raspbian-stretch-9) but this could lead to manual changes to the system and they could be hard for a not-linux user (expert mode). Then you could try to manually upgrade Minera https://github.com/getminera/minera/wiki/Getting-started#manual-updateBut I repeat, if you aren't skilled and you don't want to waste time, wait a couple of hours for the image file and start from that. I don't know what L3 uses as miner software but I don't think it will be compatible, if you have one and could give me some info I could give a look.
