Just back to let everyone know my project is nearing completion. We apologize about the delays but we brought on more staff to round out our team, have rebuilt the trading engine, preforming security audits, writing test code and setting up production infrastructure capable of scaling.

For those who do not know, we working on a Blackcoin centric exchange. It has a feature rich real-time GUI similar to MintPal and focuses around Blackcoin instead of Bitcoin like most alt-currency exchanges.

Our real-time trading engine has been rebuilt in Go, and when we launch we will have a fully functional trading API with websockets push notifications.

We are currently working on an open-source trading software to be released with the exchange to allow multipools and independent miners to easily use our exchange to quickly and cheaply convert their gains into Blackcoin with minimal fees.

I have been working on an alt currency exchange for over a year while working on my Masters in Computer Science after finishing my program and being introduced to Blackcoin I decided to change the project to what it is now. We also have 175 BTC saved up to buy BC on our exchange to help get it going.

We look forward to providing more announcements under an official account once we release the project name and more details.

It is absoultely beyond me why you should apologize for that... There's nothing worse than rushing things that require maximum security, i think every programmer knows that you can better miss a target date or deadline than ending up in a total mess and with angry customers

Yep.  One of my favorite quotes for people when I was doing consulting (both in programming and graphic arts work) was:

"Fast, Good, Cheap... pick any two"

Of course, when it's your own freelance project... 'cheap' is relative and basically part of the sweat equity (so rarely cheap actually) - so then it simply becomes a choice between fast and good... and I know most people would rather have the later - at least for something they're trusting their money to.

I'm excited for both too (totally unbiased opinion). On the subject of the coins, the raise is only 1mm even though it looks like a lot. If it turns that it doesn't look, I will raise but I wanted to keep within spec of most coins.

Ok just coming in to make a post I dont check this thread too much but want to let you all know where I'm at. Talking to a fellow named StuartGT and he is interested in making my life easier by creating a python wrapper for Blackcoin so I can make changes to BlackHalo and port BitHalo over to BlackHalo. This is definitely a great thing. I was using electrum but I will need to eventually have the option for users to use the blockchain instead. So if we pull this off somebody needs to buy him a beer. Instead of full source(for now) we can just work on critical functions. Lots of little things need to be done
to make this port. BitHalo on the other hand is coming along amazingly and hopefully I can meet the deadline by the end of this month I hope to have BitHalo ready for public testing. Will let you all know tomorrow with another update. So now we have rat4 looking at the code and I have somebody to help me on my end too.

There was no premine... there was an instamine (that turned rather substantial after lowering the max coinage) and if you quit parroting all the fake bullshit going around by people that don't know how to appropriately use a blockexplorer, you'd see that those coins have long since been distributed.

so why was there talk of an airdrop and stuff? And if you call it premine or something else, the result is the same. Someone got 2 millions of coins and no one else had a chance to get them.
