The real question is: Are they doing enough to get the job done so our hopes are met? Should the foundation change some things to make it better? Should Pavel Vasin (rat4) do something different? No, Pavel is doing exactly what the coin needs. He sees a security issue and he is addressing it. Everyone wants flashy shit, they want this feature, that feature, fireworks and parades. None of that shit matters if the coin doesn't work. Most of the other PoS coins have had severe issues with their security, even the almighty DRK had issues with it's master-nodes. XC, their Dev turned out not to be the world class programmer they made him seem. This anonymous fad is exactly that, a fad. They will come and go, people's heads will get turned every-time one coin does something that makes a good ROI and it will get copied relentlessly by every alt coming out from that moment. We are lucky to have Pavel, do not forget that. He is focusing on strengthening the foundation of our coin and you can have all of the features in the world, but the second your coin goes tits up and starts double spending, or screwing up the network it will forever be tainted. The people constantly going on about new features for new features sake are watching the price and nothing more. Slow and steady wins the race and Pavel knows better than anyone what technology the coin needs at it's heart to push forward. He is not only in demand by us, but countless other communities too. Is that not enough to prove his quality? If he thinks that security is the number one concern for Blackcoin right now, then we should shut up and listen to him and stop pretending we know better. Time is of the essence, the innovator will go to the playoffs. If Pavel Vasin (rat4) cannot deliver (what is needed) in a timely manner, to stay ahead of the competition, then what should we do? Give up or get more help? Stop playing ponzi games start coding to make BC better. Please explain how PoS 2.0 is not innovative? this. addition: if you ever read the notes on that ponzi game (i did not like that "scheme" at all despite the fact that it explained what will happen if you play, there could have probably been a better demo use case) you'd know that it was also a test for automated mass transactions, and in the first days when it had to handle hundreds of inputs and outputs in very short time it demonstrated how quick the BC technology is and that it can be used for all kind of near real-time use-cases in a quite impressive manner. |

While the fees are not ideal, the service being provided looks to be an excellent stop-gap until merchants (both online & retail) begin natively accepting Bitcoin and BlackCoin. The Foundation (Vizique would be ideal) could perhaps contact Xapo to see if there's an opportunity for them to also integrate BlackCoin into their services, thereby taking advantage of BC's superfast transaction times. Meanwhile we would gain an ENORMOUS market for BlackCoin usage. And as the BC and BTC codebases are similar, adoption should prove relatively simple. Win win. I completely agree and have already signed up for a Xapo card myself! We will be talking to these guys ASAP. Done! This also reinforces my comments about getting out there and representing BlackCoin in the wider world at conferences and seminars. These are the things that spread the word in the real world and not just through the internet. CoinSummit is coming up and we aim to have at least one person there representing BlackCoin in a business capacity. To get people like Xapo to take us on board we need things like liquidity and structure, all of which are being built in as we speak  Work to do! Buy BlackCoin, sell BlackCoin! Increase the value by getting people on board. Coinkite adoption is just one step on our path to success. We have made a lot about Coinkite and rightly so. It's unique in its class at this time, it's a familar device for merchants to use and the ROI can be as fast or as slow as the merchant wants by virtue of setting their own fees. There are however, more devices coming online through this year and we have been building a close relationship with some of them. These guys, XBTerminal.com, are ones to watch out for and I'm looking forward to receiving some in the middle of this year. Another part of the adoption puzzle and greater fabric of use we are trying to encourage. But thats just hardware! All the time these things happen, software is racing along and we're not idle there either. But thats for another time. So networking, talking to your local buiness community leaders and getting their help to spread the word about Digital Currency to their members, building businesses that exploit the benefits of digital payments, these are all things that make the value of a coin. Trading makes for some intersting profit line, but true value lies in what you can do with it in the real world as well as the virtual one. We aim to make BlackCoin a leader in the digital currency space. Viz You are right Viz, I also think that Xapo and XBTerminal could give a good boost to the spreading of our coin. For international travelers, Xapo cut all the costs and fees of currency change. Xapo is something that must be widely promoted if we get it, because it is really the link between the common FIAT world (through VISA/Mastercard) and our digital currency world. |

And as we see, there's more good news about BlackCoin being put on Chinese exchanges. This improves liquidity. Another piece of the Digital Currency Puzzle and all part of the gerater fabric of BlackCoin adoption and penetration into key markets.
I've heard a lot of noise lately about "development" and to be honest, a good point was ruined by the delivery and manner in which it was managed. It's always disappointing when a team goes off the reservation and believes it has the only answers for the problems at hand and at the same time excluding all the other good work being done across the spectrum by the Community. Whats more, it harms the very investors that are allegedly being protected? Ironic I must say. Anyway, enough of that as its a distraction from the wider goal and recent news.
Remember, success is a sequence of steps. We are taking bold steps every day. Some online, and many in real life.
Is there a Bitcoin conference near you soon? Can you go? Can you get an invite/ticket? If fo ...go! Get out there and mingle. Boots on the ground in good old fashioned meet and greet. Go talk to the people that are trying to make a difference either in your community/town/region/state/country. To make ANY digital currency a success we need people to get away from the screen and take this out there!

It sure sounds like POS 2.0 will be very innovative but not exclusive. Can it be made to be close source? Perhaps, but that goes against what people want from Crypocurrency supposedly. People seem to only want things when it is convenient to their own investment to have them. You can't have a decentralized currency with stable prices like a centralized currency... heavy whale manipulation, insider trading all of this is the result of an unregulated market which is what people asked for in the first place. Except of course when they actually put their money in. Likewise, Bitcoin and Crypto was made to be open source and accessible, that was the point, that was what people ~asked for~. But now that other coins are copying code, suddenly it's not convenient anymore because it directly effects people. Sure other coins can steal code, they have all shown that, but if they cannot understand that code and how it works, then why does it matter if they have access to it? If copying code was a simple factor of a copy and paste job, then why have a majority of the alt PoS coins been hit with major code trouble? Why does it even matter? Reputation is the biggest thing about Crypto. Bitcoin is valuable because it is the first, the trailblazer and social sentimentality is one of the biggest factors behind perceived value. What is the difference between the value of a knockoff, or a reproduction? Sometimes it can just be about a 'name' and our 'name' is Rat4. We have a developer with prestige. If Blackcoin does this shit first and gets a reputation for being a pioneer of new, truly concrete code, then it won't matter if Blackcoin1,2,3,4,5,6coin comes out and copies it. People will not invest in a cheap knock off over the real thing unless it's due to financial restrictions, or for a short term pump. |

No it is to hard for all those copycoin devs to implent in in their code. Look how long rat4 is busy with it, those copy coins aren't able to implent it. Im pretty sure of that.  It will be exclusive, rat4 is one of the best coders/devs in the altcoin communities. If you just copy a coin, you have no idea how everything works, when PoS 2.0 comes out, it is all new and they have no idea where to start  |

So this ponzi game could have been marketed as a real life mass transaction test. What are the results, have these been published? Did BC prove to be better than the others? Were all participating coins and their respective communities invited to test their coins against BlackCoin? I participated in the first game with 50 BC and got my 57 BC back, but when i heard that some coder had jumped the gun a send a bunch of transactions at the start of the game then I chose to not participate due to its unfair practices. Anyway I hope the developer of the ponzi games publishes some of the statistics showing the advantages of BC in a mass transaction test. |
