What do you guys think about the coin logo? Should we keep the old one or change to the new one?

I for one like the logo.

I don't like the level of censorship here, however.  I do believe in this coin.  I have posted legitimate questions (not in any way negative, just questions) and they have been deleted.

I believe that non FUD questions should be answered, not just the rah rah stuff.

I will agree the censorship needs to be loosened a bit. I personally do not have issue with legitimate concerns. As I have said before I think healthy debate is good. I will speak to the dev about setting about guidelines so the community knows what lines not to cross. But I agree deleting anything negative is not good.

I am both the BC top 100 as in the XLB top 100 so dont get me wrong. I dont pick sides, I just like to build/develop stuff.
Here are some ideas i have from my product development background

- Thunderclap type event for the 27th announcement

Maximise the reach

- Development roadmap instead of "we are working on a bunch of stuff"

You dont have to give away the details just points on which work is done (maybe with % status?)

- Clarity on the dev team!
Who does what, what roles, responsibilties, etc. Prevents one person to bear the brunt of EVERYTHING and shares load so developments are done faster.

I could go on but at least some of the bespoke points will help in a more structured and trustworthy image of the coin and its people.

^^^ All of that kind of stuff ^^^ Gets us on the way to 0.01BTC!!!

We must keep both models head and  tail of Libertycoin!

If the coin falls head, you win if it falls tail, you win too, because the coin is good! Wink

Can Anyone here be able to produce a graphic animation with heads and tails?

The new logo is a lot better than the broken "L", but that was good too.

Oddly though, it somehow reminds me of old Soviet propagana with the fist holding a sickle or hammer instead of a torch.  Especially the black/red/white colours.  Maybe it's just me!

Would blue be a better colour for the flame, instead of red?

Would other people unconsciously link the logo to communism & "The Reds"?

Just throwing it out there for people to think about!

This coin has the potential to really take off and branding is key to marketting.  Bad branding will put people off.  Even subconsciously.

A picture of the Statue of Liberty with a blue flame in her right hand instead of a gold one would look a lot more impressive than pasting a logo over her torch.

It would suggest a more subtle, delicate, artistic re-interpretation (cf Christo, the artist that wraps buildings in cloth) of the Statue instead of looking like bad graffiti as the image does now.

People would smile, not raise their eyebrows.

The Statue looks childishly defaced, not cleverly "liberated".   (No offence to the person that created it!)

Imagine if everytime someone looked at the Statue of Liberty, they thought of Libertycoin.  Imagine ...

I guess it depends on the part of the world you live and the era in which you grew up. For me the red is not bad because flames are red. I also think branding is everything and I think the coin with the torch should be the new logo. There is nothing like it in crypto and it will make Libertycoin unique.

Guys.  We need to develop a business ecosystem around Liberty coin in order for it to create sustainable value.  I remember when Baidu the biggest search engine in China announce their acceptance of BTC as payment for their online services that the value of BTC move up to 1200 USD.  If any game developer here can make a games with the upgrades will be paid in XLB or needs XLB to buy it, then you create value for XLB.  Or how about making a craiglist like classified ads website where XLB will be used for premium ads. Or an ecommerce website where you demand payment in XLB.  This I think is the surefire way for this coins to develop and become useful.

+1 Have my vote to update to new logo

Merchant acceptance such as Paypal/Ebay (we already know they support BTC), Coinbase, Groupon, Amazon, etc.  So a few ideas/options

1) Paying for electronics via XLB on NewEgg.com/Best Buy/PC Richards
3) How about something coinciding with Liberty University in Virginia?
4) How about trading directly for gold/silver/platinum and/or collectible coins via XLB on LibertyCoin.com and LibertyMetals.com
5) Video games and apps using XLB
6) Facebook business page (can someone spearhead this to update consistently, responsibly, and without bias?)  Know that you will have to do the right thing and if you can no longer manage this, you might have to relinquish your duties so that we can continue managing the page as a community

EDIT: As I wrote this post and Moderator posts they created a FB page. This is essential and positive news.

I'm very happy XLB price decline. This would mean that new investors can obtain higher returns in the future.

XLB is really cheap right now.

When BTC's price stabilizes, altcoins going to skyrocket.

I'm stocking up.

Hey, smexy. Don't waste your time. Time's precious.
