maybe it is in here somewhere the answer to my stupid question.. would staking secure the vericoin network? if yes, why do we need to waste all that power in mining… as in (bitcoin)
can anyone enlighten?
Mining is supposedly for creating buy support by mining other altcoins and paying out in VRC.

I will be running a group buy for VeriCoin T-shirts and hats. I'm hoping to gain a lot of interest, the more everyone buys, the less everyone pays! So share this with all your friends! Update from pnosker tomorrow.

Mining is supposedly for creating buy support by mining other altcoins and paying out in VRC. yes PoW has ended, there is no more direct mining of VRC so staking helps secure the network the "mining" of VRC on the multipool is exactly as described the pool actually mines other coins and auto-trades for VRC, so your payout is in VRC

Wait, are you seriously promoting VeriBit? And this is all you have to show: http://www.vericoin.info/veribit.htmlhttp://www.vericoin.info/VeriBit.pdfA simple HTML form pretending to be able to convert BTC to VRC, but actually just taking you to a "Webpage Not Available" page. And a non-technical white paper which could have been written by a 1st grader? And by the way, how is it going to remain decentralized when VeriBit is dependent on a VeriBit servers to change the currency from BTC to VRC? LOL nice try buddy! VRC is unfuddable so i hear!

Also nobody said Veribit is or was decentralized you must be thinking of Verisend

yes, awesome, right? VRC = BTC + Interest Edit: lmao sry I read too fast and thought you asked if it can be used at a coffee shop that accepts bit coin, once Veribit becomes active to the general public you simply input the address you want to send BTC to, input how much BTC to send and then it gives you an exact amount of VRC to send to the Veribit address which is also provided and 1-5 mins later the BTC is in the shops wallet

The webpage works fine for me. Missed the train so you have to FUD with a sockpuppet account?
There is no reason why VRC will not outpace a plain coin like DRK.
VRC can hit and exceed 2.7million satoshis. Not that price really even matters at this point. This is how amazing VRC truly is.

I don't FUD. I've been burned before by scamcoins and I don't like seeing others burned. And I wouldn't touch VRC even if it hit 1 BTC, you've got to be an idiot to put money into an obvious scam. As soon as the whales pull out, you're left holding bags of crap.
The pimps behind Vericoin are the same pimps behind Blackcoin:

an obvious scam. Please elaborate on how the three, public, open and respected, technical minds behind this coin are creating an 'obvious' scam. That they have chatted with the guys at Blackcoin on occasion doesn't mean the guys at Blackcoin have any involvement with Vericoin. Just because you've arrived at this coin late it does not excuse your ignorance of it's background and development, particularly when you are employing that ignorance to make bold scam assertions that are based on nothing but whatever erroneous assumptions you are throwing together.
