you can login as my test user and repeat the steps yourself. if that helps to troubleshoot more easily, my test account's uname/pwd is not a secret
edit: I can not find the stock I created in the ipo, that's why the cunning test case to try to sell them anyway.
I would really appreciate some help with this new version from the user point of view. how it's meant to be used
that could also save _all_ testers time needed to test this black box thingee

GLBSE 2.0 user guide, hope that helps.
Also PM me your username n password for the dev version.

cant find my stock after 2nd third IPO. the issue assets link is inactive and despite using the time 'now' I only see the asset in the assets list but nowhere the 1001 shares. the guide was somehow informative but did not help much. I does not answer why the shares do not appear when the date comes. and also what are all the supported formats. yyyymmddhhmm would be nice, default gmt and no summer time BS?

I'm working on finding the IPO bug you've mentioned, I've made a few changes already that fix a good few of your issues but not this one. When I think I've got it I'll update dev.glbse.com and post here, a few hours probably.

I've fixed a number of bugs that you've reported mila, and the current version is 14/MAR.

I have not however got the fix for shares not being put into your account on the IPO date. Still working on this and will update thread when done. Nefario.

no rush, also I think Ive fixed the ipo problem, so now it should put the shares into your account.

for time you can put:now
a timer checks every 2 minutes, so you may have to wait up to 2 minutes for them to show in your account.

Also, as per request (from further up in the thread) to have buy/sell fields on the asset page itself.

OK - partially fixed - I see now the stocks in the respective TICKERaccount and can issue valid sell orders; looks better now (can see the stock, but it does not trade)

NOK I can not buy the shares from my BTC account. they are visible but cannot trade them. again a time / trigger issue?
I hope it's similar as when I did buy BTCSYN shares before they IPOed (the first two orders paired immediately after IPO were mine 2+10 shares that I created in advance) and my IPO only needs to mature or be triggered somehow.

have setup the same uname/pwd if you'd like to have a look

affects release 14/3/2012

also I'd love to suggest usability improvements (adding spaces or separators between accounts; improving order in which cursor jumps between fields if user prefers keyboard and just presses Tab to switch fields in the form; and just maybe also design tweaks) low prio.
that I'd address 'later' at your convenience (or sooner, to have screen shots for the user guide - screen shots that would not change much, I'm not willing to spend time updating the documentation & testing, it's either or for now)

long shot idea to guerilla QA and documentation - setup an independent project with use cases, maybe even sikuli scripts to automate testing and develop user guides. with focus on testing and developing use cases first.

this is 2.0 unrelated but I noticed http://charts.glbse.com/markets/ stopped updating charts 1-2 days ago.
did the subscription ended or the operator finally sold the service (he was looking for buyers at irc)
or the stream of data is broken or the receiving part is down.

I'm just after getting back from London(gone since Tuesday), indeed charts.glbse.com is not showing any updates since the 12th.

For the moment, all the latest trades for GLBSE can be found on it's twitter feed here.

I'm contacting the operator of charts to find out what the story is.

Here's an interesting post, about a crowdfunding platform that struggled to get (err, ... to keep) a credit card processing company for its payments from the crowd of contributors.

Quote
If you are working with merchants in any capacity and processing payments for them, then you can probably expect credit card processors to give you a hard time. They might accept your account and then shut you down, or charge you prohibitive fees and cap the amount you can process, stifling growth.

Quote
There has to be a smarter system out there for dealing with the risks involved in new business models. The current system is prohibitive for startups that are trying to innovate. If you don’t fit into the mold, then you are just not welcome.

If only there was, huh!   Smiley

Yeah, if only there was a solution, I bet the person that finds that would make a mint. Oh well, back to washing windows.

Oh by the way, GLBSE2.0 launches on Monday Tongue

I have no open buy order
my only previous buy order was filled
i still see "BTC reserved for orders:6.0"

in version updated on:11/MAR/2012

I've found out what the problem is with this, code failed to check whether order went through and raised the reserve amount regardless. This will be fixed in the next update in a couple of hours along with tons of other big and little things.

A major item is the inclusion of fees, as in trading fees. GLBSE up to this point has only charged for creating new assets.

Trade fees will be paid for by the seller, 1%

Default asset creation fee is 8btc, not too long after launch this will be pegged to the amount of verification of users accounts, the more they verify who they are the lower the fee. So for totally non verified accounts the fees going to go up(more than 8BTC), with some exceptions. This will improve over time as I add more means for users to verify themselves(won't exactly have to be to a real life ID either).

There will also be dividend fees, when a dividend is paid out, planning 0.5%

Hopefully with said fees and a larger user base we'll be able to support ourselves, currently GLBSE has been living on capital almost entirely since it's inception.

I'll post again in a while when it's updated.

Nefario.

http://dev.glbse.com latest update - 18/MAR is up and running.

CHANGES:
Fees and fees paid shown in portfolio page.
Bitcoin account reserve bug fixed
Admin panel for assets
Accounts list easy to see

OK folks, this is more or less what is going to be launched on Monday, give or take any bugs that are found between now and then and a few UI tweaks (I'll need to add a fees page).

My next step is focusing on importing the data from GLBSE1.0 and allowing users to connect old accounts with new ones.

Enjoy.

I've created several buy orders.
They do not show up in http://dev.glbse.com/portfolio
while BTC reserved for orders:900.0
No buy orders

this can't be correct.

also bug #2
while switching between accounts in http://dev.glbse.com/portfolio
all asset management accounts show not sell orders despite the fact that share count shows some shares as reserved.

summary
IPO does not work (fees charged ok but created shares can not be traded)
User can not buy any shares (balance sufficient, btc reserved but no orders remain visible after creation)
