You must have mixed this coin with some pure PoS coins. This coin can be mined FOREVER! here's the spec (we are still in pre-halve initial payout phase):

PoW
- 90 sec PoW block time
- diff retarget each block for PoW
- Initial payout will be 512 coins per block
- True randomness, no cheat from someone with big hashpower
- Superblocks:
   - Every 3 hours there will be a block with 4X normal payment (initial 2048 coins)
   - Every day there will be a block with 16X normal payment (initial 8192 coins)
   - Every 5 days there will be a block with 128X normal payment (initial 65536 coins)

- block payout will be halved every one and half months (45 days).
- minimum PoW payout for will be 1 coin/block.

While the PoS generation is forever too, and in 1st year it includes PoS Superblocks (only found in this coin)!

Now this is a great start! Let's not lose momentum from here on out. The more concrete updates on the development effort (rather than vague comments like 'more good things to come') would really help this coin fly. Supercoin dev - can you give us a breakdown of what's being developed and the % of completeness on each task? If you set some date targets and actually hit them, you'll see a strong community of supporters build around this coin very quickly.

This coin announced their anon and went from a 1000 satoshis to 90,000 satoshis. They also launched a logo contest on http://99designs.com to get a nice, new, modern logo (Supercoin needs a new logo - no offense to whoever designed the original one, but it looks outdated).

Good points... I see Supercoin is embarking to the development of anonymous features, that is great. A few coins claimed that, the key is who will come out with a working version. I am sure many coins just hype, I doubt their dev know how to do anonymity at all. But Supercoin seems have a serious team, at least this coin is perfect thus far and superblocks go on very well. I assume this team is capable of delivering, I am closely watching this coin.

I hadn't realized. How do you know? It's true they haven't released the white paper yet, and if it turns out to be lies, the price will fall at that time. But at this point, we don't know for sure that it is unwarranted hype, do we?

My hope is that the Supercoin dev remains competitive and moves forward without taking too much time, waiting for the coin to get added on this exchange or that exchange. There can be no barriers to the coin's progress from a development standpoint, and we must move fast to capture people's attention and interest. As another user posted earlier, one day in crypto is like months in any other field.

Yes I hope they do, the problem is that the anonymous wallet issue is a tough one, evidently, otherwise it would be solved long ago. So I am not sure that will be solved quickly. XC, making big hype, did only a simple mixer service, far from real anonymity. Even with that, they did not publish the source code of it (most likely some variant from Fedoracoin code).

I think you are spot on. If it was such an easy problem to solve, everyone would adopt it immediately. There are a few coins that are separating the web wallet anon (developers claim this is not as complicated) from the local wallet anon (apparently this is far more difficult). For this reason, I believe Pinkcoin is tackling the web wallet anon first, and have been very open about developing the desktop wallet anon at some point in the future. I wonder if it's worth Supercoin considering breaking up the anon this way. You know, bite off small, attainable mouthfuls at a time and successfully demonstrate the completion of each one. This allows for more marketing news too - actual progress worthy of being communicated to the larger crypto-market.

Whatever the innovation, it's important that this coin is always progressing forward and not resting its laurels on the POS Superblocks. If it is to be an anon feature, I urge the developers to decide what and how this will be implemented and by when. If it's not to be the anon feature, my hope is that this decision will come quickly and will be made publicly so the community can quickly regroup and figure out what's next.

How about to stop the POW in a month, and go to POS with superblocks. That's the main thing right now, this coin differs from others, with POS superblocks.
