6/6/14 update: we're live on our first community node! Node payment start has been pushed back to 6/18 by Darkcoin dev team.6/10 update: RC3 launch pushed back to 6/27 to thoroughly test upgrades and patches before public release. This is a good thing as the market tends to punish those who can't protect their own coins key variables & rules (double spending is an example of the abuse of the variables involved).
Devs are also adding the ability to hold the 1000DRK offsite (pref.in cold storage) which also reduces some of the incentive for trying to break into a MN.
With that in mind, we'll launch nodes at a slower pace which allows me to take even more time locking down security, which should be multi-layered and multi faceted, and requires constant attention as to the latest zero days and other cyber threats.
Also: since there's been another two week delay I'm now offering free MN setups for those that sign up before the 21st!

- Appreciates in value over time: One month ago on April 27, the USD value of a DRK node's reserved coins was $1.6K. On May 13, 14 days ago it was $2.7K. Today on May 27, it currently requires approx. $12K worth of reserved DRK to start a node.
- So far: Does NOT depreciate in value at double digits every month like a Bitcoin Miner which continuously yields less BTC as difficulty skyrockets

handoff your own Darkcoin MasterNode for a service fee of 30 DRK and/or perform ongoing management services. This includes setting up and securing pro-level protection for antivirus, firewall, and DDOS protection which *must* be paid by the team of 2-4 people setting up a DRK MN. Any used admin accounts will be handed over for Password changes. Beyond normal setup of security, we will not responsible for on-going security and losses incurred due to poor or non-existent security after the handoff. The handoff assumes that the client will have pro level firewall and DDOS protections that we installed kept in place and subcriptions kept active.
2. I, or an IT Network Professional I personally vet, will set up for a service fee of 30 DRK (
setup fees are waived for Batches 1 and 2!) and
manage your DRK MN for an agreed upon rate of 1.5% (recommended) to 3%. As a benefit to Batch 1-2 Partners for being first to recognize the value of them, these first Nodes will be services will only be managed at only 1.5%!
Payouts are twice a month minus the agreed upon management fee of 1.5% for Batches 1 & 2. Payouts and accounting of stake ownerships will be handled by thomas_s. , the head of logistics for MinerSource.net and my co-founder of the DZ MC. His integrity in the Crypto community is without question and he has handled literally thousands of BTC worth of the community's funds and mining hardware without issue.
3. (Planned) Please contact me if you are a Network Engineer or Administrator and you would like to help others set up their own Darkcoin MasterNodes. You must be willing to share your personal ID and your LinkedIn info to confirm your credentials to become vetted. So far, I have protected the personal information of about 12 vetted Group Buy Coordinators and/or Miner Hosts on this forum.
