http://new.hashharder.com/cryptonote/mountcoin

Needs more miners! We are starting to find non orphaned blocks now. Help us secure this for the coin!

I tried to mine on your pool but Apparently I have to register an alias?

Well, I did that but never received the email I was supposed to.  So I am unable to mine on your pool.  And yes I checked the spam filter.  Help me mine on your pool and I will.

I sent some hash to http://mnt.ext-pool.net/ and it looks like they have found block while I've been mining.  Haven't verified payout yet.

I am also going to keep some hash pointed at http://mcn.extremepool.org

If people using multiple instances/computers to mine would divide those between the various pools or solo mine, that would really help things out.  But http://mcn.extremepool.org  is a great pool and people should continue to use it.  Just spread the hash around if you can.

Solo min ing is definitely paying off.  Looks like the orphan issue is getting better.  That means people should start solo mining ASAP.

I might try it. What are you using to mine, the mountcoind.exe daemon or something else?

Yep... Started solo mining using the mountcoind.exe daemon about 20 mins ago & just got a block.
Pretty happy as it is running in parallel with my 2 GPUs and looks pretty stable.

Is this the correct syntax for the daemon if I'm running it on a different machine from where the wallet is installed?

you should read the whole thread before you say something is wrong, because the pool is not reporting wrong.  The pool has the proper equation for the block time, and is what the dev has told me it is.

Here's the earlier commit for the change to 40s the dev mentioned.. apparently a fix for orphans

https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin_old/commit/30d347d58e03786ad8ddeb3a5ed4bf01a649209c

And just over an hour later the dev "fixed the fix".. back to 25s, where it is now..

https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin_old/commit/2c4b83ccdc39d2b1d27edd4b89522d18d45340d8

And here's the most current versions:

The "old" one (yesterdays)
https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin_old/blob/master/src/cryptonote_config.h#L36

The new one:
https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin/blob/master/src/cryptonote_config.h#L36

Anyway, I've been out of this since a few hours after launch, so I should stop checking in to watch the slow-mo trainwreck Smiley

No, there was not the bug. The bug was at the Core

Care to point out which commit fixed the bug?  Here's all the commits made to the tree:

https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin_old/commits/master

Here's the file which shows its just a clone of bytecoin 0.8.6 with some simple replacements of verison numbers and names and tweaking of a couple of parameters and seed lists..

https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin_old/commit/aa5808aae8bc63c1cca7be0cd520e413da15f117

Nothing special going on here.. just a cut and paste coin.

Good luck to holders

You knwo that this is not a copy and paste coin. The Coin is based on ByteCoin and not on BitMonero or QuazarCoin. But yes our SourceCode is similar.

PS: Please you a Pool like http://new.hashharder.com/cryptonote/mountcoin
