atcsecure, can you post checksums and PGP sign the release? please sir, many of us aren't comfortable just downloading and installing software given the nature of this all.

There is a difference between tech savvy and just plain paranoid. Do you really think the dev of XC would post a link to malicious software?

If you are questioning my reasoning for wanting him to post checksums signed off with his PGP key for a wallet executable that is not available on github to be recompiled, then you should consider leaving this tech and never coming back.

So folks, I have been following this thread from the beginning. Xc is the first currency I have truly been excited about since btc. I am about to make what is a large xc investment for myself. Anyone have a reason why they strongly feel someone should or should not invest in xc. Not basing my decision on this info, just curious as to where the community still stands. Thanks.

To commodify ethicality is to ethicise the market

It means the transaction is Un Traceable
Real Life Example :
u put mail in ur mailbox to send to friend. before putting in box u put a lock on it and send your friend the key. only your friend has this key to unlock. the mail man gets your mail and rips it up into 1000 pieces. he gives 1000 pieces to 1000 other mail men. each mail men routes the mail down different routes to your friends house. Each mail man gets a tip from you for routing their portion of the mail (lets say 0.001 XC), the more pieces of mail the mail mens deliever the more tips they get / when all the pieces of the mail hit your friends house your friend re-assembles the 1000 pieces of mail back into the letter. and then he uses the key u gave him earlier to unlock and read the message. -XC (SUPREME PRIVACY)
and this isn't our last layer, we have 1 more layer of blockchain privacy coming out as well with REV3, and at that stage it will be 100% anonymous & bullet-proof when combined with all the layers we have built

This is my personal view (I work for XC). Testing has shown no link on the blockchain between sender and receiver on XC's Rev. 1.5 app: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=630547.msg7310485#msg7310485The Rev 2.0 app incorporates a world-first: trustless decentralised mixing. Henceforth, transactions can be forwarded by a node without needing to trust the node. There will be substantial bounties offered in the near future for anyone who can provably break XC's anonymity. XC just added some world-class people to its team, and these people are using their real names and putting their reputations on the line: http://www.xc-official.com/the-xc-team/XC is completely decentralised and not semi-centralised like some competing anon projects. XC makes its code available to the public on a delayed timeline. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/07/02/idUKnGNXbb8nSq+1c2+GNW20140702If XC's value does not up by a decimal place in the nearest future, I'll be very surprised. P.S. As you can imagine, I've bought a lot of XC.

You shouldn't because you will push the price up while my buy orders aren't filled by people selling low to chase the next pump and dump....

I'd like to download and install the wallet but would like to see checksums at a minimum published by Dan first. It's industry best practice to publish checksum / PGP sign off on wallet downloads, see Bitcoin Core: https://bitcoin.org/bin/0.9.2.1/SHA256SUMS.asc

Maybe a little more helpful info Lol ok here you go : Find an animated gif you want to use, either create one or search on google images "this and that animated gif" Click on the image you want to use, copy the address of the image Now go to BTC talk and click reply In the editor you see buttons for B / U and S below those you see other buttons, the first one being some wierd sun thing and right next to it is a button "insert image" Click that button, you see [ IMG ] [/ IMG] (without the spaces) Paste the link between those two instances like [ IMG ] your link.gif [/ IMG] (again without the spaces) Submit your post Presto!
