As requested, a community development fund address has been created.

Hey dev I think the diagrams for cloaksend 1.0 in the first post should removed and images for Cloaksend 2.0 or what I like to call POC (proof of cloak) images added instead to show people the new anon system.

I missed mining Cloakcoin at release as I've been busy the last weeks - nvm - however I'm still interested in this coin and support genuine anonymity projects. Its important to choose a good networking port for use with Tor. Most established Tor Exit / Relays use a reduced exit policy. See: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ReducedExitPolicySee: https://blog.torproject.org/running-exit-nodeAn additional option is to ensure that their are a sufficient number of dedicated Clockcoin .onion Tor hidden_service nodes running as dual stack p2p nodes i.e. on 'clearnet' and also within the Tor network. Most of this: https://blog.torproject.org/blog/bittorrent-over-tor-isnt-good-idea is still very much applicable when using any p2p related protocol over Tor ! I've described in several posts in this forum how a 'Tor enclave' of dedicated nodes can be created for the benefit of crypto coins. This is a good alternative in providing additional Tor nodes (and bandwidth), instead of effectively 'clogging' or bloating the Tor network / nodes with 'unnecessary' p2p traffic. Anyway, I can offer to add up to 4 dedicated Clockcoin .onion hidden_service addresses into the mix (on existing Tor relays) for folks cloakcoin.conf etc. Any available bounties ? |

This coin is very interesting. I am having issues though. I downloaded the widows wallet from the front page and launched. However, the wallet is not syncing and says it's offline. Are there any specific ports that should be open?

Hi, thank you for attempting to help. Prior to posting my original thread, I did try the sticky post, however, that did not work. For starters, Windows 7, cloakcoin-qt-1.9.4-windows. I went as far as to delete everything, clear my temp folders etc... but what's really odd is the old wallet address including it's label still showing. In addition, there are no other files inside my C:\Users\x0x\Downloads\cloakcoin-qt-1.9.4-windows folder, except for the conf file when I create it. The wallet says I am not minting because I am offline and I have 0 active connections. When I launch the client, the windowsw fire wall asks for permission, which I grant, so I am stumped. |
