Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I trust cloak's devs because of how transparent they've been the past weeks.  Wasn't even thinking about selling with PoSA and onemarket coming out soon.

They still didn`t fix the fork. However, they are working hard to fix everything.

Follow these directions to resync your wallet

Can someone help me please ? Yesterday my wallet was synced and staking all off a sudden it stopped syncing on Wed 25. Jun 11:22:32 2014 block 31136 and now it will not sync and the stakes are stuck ! Can anyone advise me ?

went through the same. Apparently fork on mintpal. Only way to recover for me was:
1. Make copy of wallet.dat -DO NOT MISS THIS else coin gone
2. Get rid of the entire appdata\roaming\cloakcoin folder
3. Run the wallet
4. stop it and copy your saved wallet.dat back in
5. Download the latest CloakCoin.conf file here (http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/nodes/download.php) and put it in the same Cloakcoin folder
6. Run the wallet again and let it sync

I had to restart it a couple of times to get the sync to complete
If your coins don't show (happened to me) : go to debug console and enter and run repairwallet

Should be good after that

I'm not sure but I think the OSX update might of made my wallet contribute to the fork. I was AFK so I couldn't update it meanwhile it was open and staking on the old version.

Anyways, I just did a fresh install (above directions) to the newest OSX version and I'm on the most current block.

Glad to hear it is working for you. Those who are still getting errors should make sure they are downloading the .conf from the source in step 5 above instead of somewhere else

Mmm.. I don't think it's time to burn that bridge. XC's success is drawing people to Cloak looking for value.
Plus, XC is focused on "Internet 2.0", where as cloak is focusing on Onemarket. So no reason why we can't live in harmony for the medium term Smiley

Yes... but if XC didn't exist.. that would be our market cap.

If we had that MC and hit the fork issue we are experiencing now it would be absolute carnage. They better hope for a smooth release of REV 2 now because if it's a dud they're fahked! If it's smooth they will explode further, hopefully taking us with them if this fuking fork is fixed and get on with PoSA. What a shitty day.

Na they are completely fucking burnt out, at most could go up another 10-20%, but with a market cap that big and that fast, they are just gana have profit takers shitting all over it. Then we will see vericoin price go back up and cloak should hit 8+. Look at blackcoin, they have been doing some really fucking good innovative shit, but price wont even move up more than 10% cus theres nowhere for it to really go with a MC that big.

I like both coins and am invested in both.  No reason they both can't succeed.

I'm not an expert. But, it sounds like XC is using a slightly fancier coin mixing tech.  Coin mixing is obsolete now. Mixing in the blockchain would eventually be able to be unwound with enough analysis or minor amounts of contextual knowledge.  Coinjoin Sodoku (www.coinjoinsudoku.com) is just one example.  More sophisticated analysis is coming in the future as well.

PoSA looks promising. If I understand the tech properly it's cleverly using the PoS protocol as a sideband for "silently" mixing. Meaning there is no connection in the blockchain. The connection would have to be traced back through the sideband. The only possible attack vector would seem to be the same attack vector for forking the PoS mining power. Corrupting enough staking nodes to get lucky enough to see the mixing happen in realtime.

Again, I'm not an expert.  So, if I got this wrong just tell me.
