I get an error message when I try to run the new wallet exe. Message says This installation package is not supported by this processor type. What's up with that? This processor is an i7-2600k.

You have 32bit windows and its a 64 bit installer. wont work. download the "non" installer version and you be GTG

Gah, installed new version and of course connection drops. Reinstalled, added nodes to conf, downloads for 4-5 min, then stops. Any tips for a solid conf?

I had 1.9.4 running fine all throughout 1.9.6 since the new version crippled my ability to update. What gives?

If you restart the wallet, it should continue syncing.

Done that a couple times. Repairwallet in debug console, too. All the rounds. Amount of remaining blocks keep changing too.

Try to reboot your system and force a new Ip from your router if possible.

Check, check, and check.

I troubleshooted like this w/ 1.9.4 and got it to work within minutes. Twiddled around w/ a couple of nodes and found that setting maxconnection to 4 solved my problem. Doesn't seem to be the case this time around, though.

EDIT: Okay, seems like the remaining blocks are downloading pretty normally now (not jumping around, although painfully slowly). Hopefully it's just a matter of waiting till I'm sync'd up.
