Can any one help me?
I've lost all my coins!
My cloak wallet crashed earlier.
I backed up my wallet.dat because i went to download new mac wallet, mega wouln,t let the download work for some reason. ( i thought there was a new version)
Then wen i opened my wallet i had no coins and a new address!!!
By my backup wallet (yes i only had one of this wallet) has now been over written with a blank wallet?!!
Every time i open cloak wallet I'm given a new address, and the block explorer is now 55 days behind?!
Whats happened?!!

did you download the client with safari? Yeh i have done everything correct, but after it crashed and i opened it again was out of sync with 0 coins. I didn't realise the 0 coins so backed up wallet over my other backup which was done this morning!!!! My coins will still show in wallet if its out of sync right? or shall i try to let it sync? But the weird thing is getting different addresses. Im really annoyed, 420 coins pooft! gone! |

If you have backed up a fresh wallet.dat with 0coins over your old wallet.dat containing your coins they are lost. Do you not have a older backup ? It is no impotant how much coins are into your old wallet backup, its only important it shows your address you hold the coin into. I always make a backup when it is fresh and encryted and has 0 coins on it. You can synch such a wallet months later and it should have all coins into it. |

Update went perfect for me on OS X 10.10
Downloaded the file with CHROME, not safari
Put the new app in Applications, replaced the old one
opened it up, took about a minute to connect then it had to sync a few blocks.
17-23 PoSA connections and 2 normal connections

Another thing you can do is let a new wallet synch and replace the empty wallet.dat with older backups you have. After restart your wallet with a replaced wallet.dat it directly show the correct balance of wallet.dat |

Thanks for the help, I've a feeling they are gone.
I dont understand how having only re-opened it after it crashing a few hours previously I'm 60days behind and 0 coins? I put the backup back open the wallet and I'm given a new address?
The wallet looks like the same file size but it keeps getting written to when i open the wallet? i really can't understand whats happened.

If your wallet does not synch you have to delete all files into your appdata folder expect wallet.dat and resynch |

Still i did not get answer i sent the 25 coins from pool to wallet Have you checked the transaction at Mintpal? Has it gone through according to the transaction info? You should be able to trace where the coins went and just how long have you waited for the the transaction? |

TheDagger clearly said that there could be an issue importing old wallets, and there were clear instructions on how to alleviate that issue should it arise. have you follow those instructions?
and to dude who accidentally wrote over your real wallet with a new wallet... i don't know what to tell you. you're fucked.
it's really not that hard to manage wallet.dats, it is incredibly easy to fuck it up, as all your coins are associated with the address in that file, so if you delete and don't have a backup you're borked.
