dear god bunch of delusional bag holders
xem have lost more than 50% of his value, with no sign of recovery but breaking support lines
but the main thing is: are the devs at least still alive ? "catapult for summer 2017" is an old legend from 2016. have there been any real news about this ?
I don't know why you try to spread your FUD here. Are you fearing to use your real account for postings like these? Nobody believes you as your post has no content but rather silly questions you can read usually on gossip rags like the SUN ;-) Maybe you should try to get a job there. ;-)

so, are the devs actuallly doing any coding on this? are there partners developing apps on this? Why is this the only big currency that is going the wrong way with price?

As I observed NEM is the only crypto in the top without much marketing. Although many believers that NEM have the best technology in crypto. NEM will be announcing its update on Catapult soonish.

Not to trying to bash NEM at all, but I saw on Reddit that Ethereum Raiden will be able to process 1,000,000 tx/s??
Is this going to make NEM obsolete? Or is the security of NEM its main selling point?

"NEM is Ethereum on steroids! If Ethereum will reach 20 billion dollar market cap, NEM could reach 50 cents per XEM or 4,5 billion dollars in market cap. I see an analogy between gold-silver and Ethereum-NEM. Both paired assets have very similar properties, but nevertheless are priced very differently. Ethereum is now significantly more expensive than NEM, just as gold is more expensive than silver. Gold is more popular than silver, as Ethereum is more popular than NEM. But if these assets gold-silver and Ethereum-Nem to increase in price, the lower valued assets will increase relatively more than the higher valued assets. In other words, if gold will increase a 100 percent in value, silver could increase 300 percent in value. And if Ethereum to increase a 100 percent value to 10 billion dollars in market cap, NEM could easily increase 300 percent to 1,1 billion in market cap. Making the price of NEM 12 cents. I think NEM should be aiming much and much higher than 12 cents as NEM and Ethereum both will play an important role in the future economy. I would not be surprised if NEM will reach 1 dollar per XEM in the near future because of these reasons. 1) NEM offers enormous value for our future ‘new’ economy. It utilizes the blockchain to cut off intermediaries and middle-man, making our interactions and contract trustless, and so making our societies more effective. 2) Even though with NEM you can’t create all the apps like Ethereum can, it can still create a huge diversity of apps. NEM’s API is more developers friendly, and easier to develop on than Ethereum. Certain Dapps could be more easily created on NEM than on Ethereum as the developers were very considerate when choosing the code for NEM. According to NEM’s core developer, NEM is 10x better than Bitcoin. But it is difficult to say NEM is 10x better than Ethereum as they are somewhat different. But nevertheless, overall he still thinks NEM is better than Ethereum. 3) NEM is created to be a currency. Ethereum is created to be used as gass for its dapps. NEM has the potential to become widely adopted very soon. 4) NEM is made to be scalable. Unlike Ethereum and Bitcoin. So, when again considering these three traits of NEM, I think if everything will go right, NEM should even outperform Ethereum. With caution, I would speculate that NEM could even become the first currency to reach a 100 billion dollar market cap. "

Actually a lot of us are original stake holders who have seen our holdings gain 5000% value so far this year and over 1 million % since we bought our stakes. Not sure what chart you are looking at that shows 50% decrease in value but I'll just guess you're a FUD slinging troll. Yes devs are alive: https://forum.nem.io/t/stories-from-the-dev-front-diary/2641You'll see ninja memes around here because the devs work quietly and do not hype the platform and just let their work speak for itself when it is complete. You'll notice pretty much all dev stakes worth up to 9 figures have not been touched which speaks volumes about the confidence they have in what they are working on.

There isn't much marketing, but things are happening in the background. To quote Lon Wong from earlier in the year: "Despite the seemingly uneventful happenings in the NEM community space, we have been working hard everyday. Previously, I have mentioned that NEM is not a typical crypto project. It is a blockchain technology project with a Blue Ocean strategy approach. The intent is to hit the mainstream. Hence, it would be hard for the NEM crypto community to know what is actually happening. The reason being that these mainstream companies and entities would not like their projects to be announced without being firmed up to use our technology. NEM has been pretty active in East Asia, particularly in Japan, Malaysia, Korea and China. Together, we have generated more than a few hundred enquiries on our technology. We have interests ranging from central banks (digital fiat currency issuance), financial institutions, share registry and trading, national ID projects, KYC, logistics, IoTs, Robotics, Carbon Credit project (biggest land bank of forest reserve in the world), medical industry, games development, and a host of other industries. I must say that this is most encouraging and our Blue Ocean strategy appears to be working quite well. Just now, we are also beginning to gain traction in Europe with some interests coming from there too. The amount of interest seems to suggest that we are way ahead of many of the competition in the crypto space, especially for mainstream applications. I am confident that we should hit some big projects this year. Our project is multi-prong in its use and therefore cover a wide spectrum of industries".

Yeah in fairness the story of NEM will be the story of price gaps-order of magnitude increases as news comes out/there's a major tech breakthrough. Just wish we could get a hint The quiet is frustrating. All I'm saying is, the hype is annoying on both ends. People saying "person X said that NEM just made a head and shoulders pattern, therefore it's going up 50x tomorrow" are just as annoying as "this is a scamcoin, it's going to zero." Let's just keep things realistic.

I think it's a very good time to buy more XEM. May be it's the last possibility to buy it for such good price. I personally bought even more XEM today and I'm absolutely sure that it's good investment. This coin rapidly went into top 10 of crypto currencies market capitalization and it's very stable for a long time. Many good updates are comming and not too many people still know about it, it still doesn't present on many trading platforms and also many ico will be made on this platform as soon as they reduce comissions and make some other good changes. Also I think there is a big chance that some big companies will start to use nem in their business. So I want to say that this coin has a very huge potencial of growth from current price - 2-5x is possible. Just buy and forget about it for some time and you will say thanks to me later

7000 is actually a good entry point if your into technical analysis of charts. 50% is a key Fibonacci retracement level ...

DIMCOIN is not expensive, it's only 1 cent a coin and if you invest early you get +30% bonus... I don't understand why NEM holders would not be more enthusiastic about this project since it is conceptually a market based on the NEM blockchain. I recently invested a significant amount in NEM and I plan on investing a small amount in DIMCOIN.

Exactly, it lost 50% relative to BTC (which increased in value), not it's actual value in fiat (USD/EUR/JPY/CNY/etc). Even if it did drop 50% in value I wouldn't blink an eye as I've held through a few worse dips than that several times.
