as soon as i found and converted the binary code my gut feeling was that it would be a minecraft server, but i didn't know how to check it. It seems like you have to pay to play minecraft? So is anyone who can't play now stuck with this ?

It could be that the server allows cracked clients. Not sure though. Anyway, it does suck.

Well if you can win 3.5 BTC then you can pay it back from the prize.  Grin

If I know for sure, I will have to buy it, to go ahead in the search.

But it's a pitty... should have been shareware game.  Cry

Nope. Shame really, I was enjoying this until we got dead-ended.

Can any of the few logged in players that are on this thread report back with screenshots/details of what's to be found on the server?

Luckily, I bought Minecraft in September 2010 and have had free updates ever since.

If it was something we could at least purchase with bitcoin, it wouldn't be so bad.

I have a notion we hit a bad trail.
I don't think that we should be hacking a Amazon server, that requires a ECDSA key... something we need for the bitcoin address itself  Smiley

So I tried to analyse the bit(dot)ly link.
Add a plus sign to that link to get the stats.

It shows a user that made two links @ 21 june.

My guess is that we need to fish for
"Pufferfish"

Hmm thats the default link when making an account...

well that sucks big time, nice one OP, i wasted how much time figuring out the bit.ly only for it to go to a paid game server and we have to just sit here now doing nothing, i bet the prize is on the server as well. I would have been better off not revealing the answer and going off to buy the game instead.

I don't have it either.  The clues may have lead to login information.  Someone may report back.

Well we have this :

- Public Address : 1HXUobwcB19cGDrghuh42HDdJdJvrJUEra

- Pass Phrase :  "They cannot attack what they do not see" Huh

- Private key : Still unknown {Is this somewhere in the Minecraft server}?

And It seems to be a dark wallet.

Am I right?

I think the first image is supposed to lead to the second, I am not entirely sure though as we didn't really do it the way you're supposed to..

We are not sure what was behind the dirt blocks sticking out, it could have been either red or gray block

EDIT:
New picture with the missing pieces from the last one

you can log in with SSH at 54.201.109.162:22 with the username "user" but no clue what the password is.
client used: putty

Wonder if it's expected to find a password to login to that computer's shell. It's not exactly legal trying to login to other people's servers uninvited.

My kids plays Minecraft, and says you must look for a pressure plate.

And the red blocks, form what looks like part of a QR code?

This is getting crazy exciting now!!!
