The released version of the song is titled: 02 Laffe the Fox - Left Alone in Outer Space.mp3
The original version on their site is only available as an mp3, but the video probably originated from youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rysbn9bZ54

this make no sense -.-

OP give us a hint =D

No more hints, the BTC will disappear in a bit

u guess someone is close?

Someone is already there - Not me btw.

and how do you know?

I am psychic Wink

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

You guys are getting sloppy...

SHA(SHA(Tetractys)) = cac911c02d8a37ffd20fb99aa21166160bc8f8c3c23ed119cabf36330bb35671

Opens 3.7z...

Yeah, because the OP got the encoding wrong and everybody else followed the route I did originally.

Code:
echo "Tetractys" -n |openssl dgst -sha256 | tr -d '\n'  |openssl dgst -sha256

Can somebody please explain how do you do sha256(sha256("passphrase")) the OP way? It's true that the way it's done to hash the Merkle tree like it's described in the Bitcoin protocol leads to incorrect results. Can someone please post the correct linux shell line which leads to results you are getting? Or do you not use openssl but some other tool? Thanks.

Go for it. I'm further on in that I know what I'm looking at. Still stuck getting meaning from it. Throw me a bone.

This does it the OPs way, not the way Bitcoin does it. This is the method used for passwords in this ARG.

i just use an online text to sha256 converter, then you convert the result to get the pw.
Now we don't know what we're looking for though, no more pw protected files, so next move is anyones guess

We need to get what's behind the "Again.7z" file. Has anyone made progress with that?

mirth's roundup #83:

clues:
- "Never underestimate the determination of a kid who is time-rich and cash-poor."
- 2147129 (from Number.txt)
- 8081-VA015 ODYSSEY (characters in the video from Space.mp4, also the album title this video is from)
- Jul  2, 1980  00:02:18, unix timestamp: 331369338 (timestamp of again files - thanks Prospero)
- Space.mp4 itself

possible next steps:
- construct an IP/onion/web address
- find a password to open 2.7z
- extract something magical out of Space.mp4

as a side note, I am impressed with how many steps this puzzle has included. I feel like I could come back next week and catch up on the next dozen steps everyone has solved, and be on some new thing.

this as a summary

Hasn't 2.7z already being opened?

I have a feeling the phrase "Satoshi was here" which was embedded in the game has some significance. The sha256(sha256("Satoshi was here")) == 464b32e761b63b97c5cb2404ed26ac3e05f538471aabbc99564d09d96b130da0

Yeah, that has been solved. That summary isn't up-to-date. I have updated a bit. I hope you don't mind mirth.

bitcoininformation's roundup #1:

Clues:
- Always apply Bitcoin protocol - "Bitcoin hash is the hash of the hash, so two SHA256 rounds are needed"

- get the private key out of one of the files
- extract something magical out of Space.mp4

Extra Information:
- 2.7z contained a game which had some sound files that weren't used in the game itself. One of them (or all of them) contained a QR code to the "Again.7z" page.
