Great info.

Btw. I've deposited 10BTC on your pyramining ref as a grant for a service:)

Mine with your Bitcoins: www.facebook.com/pyramining (always active links)
Exchange all your altcoins on Vircurex (smaller fee from that link)

Testing is completed.  Start date set for 9/7/2012.  This is to let all the blocks mined during testing to get paid. I then will start new wallets and clear the databases.  Yeah!!!  Cheesy

Yo guys! If you guys need anything server-wise (connectivity issues or anything like that) once the start date has passed, let me or JayCoin know via PM. I get emails when I get a PM here so i should respond within the hour unless i'm asleep. I look forward to working with you all!

Will the block finding bonus be shared to the pool members? I don't remember if that was ever asked.

Krak,

I'm honestly not sure since I didn't write the p2pmining.com software but I would assume so. That's prolly a better question for JayCoin to answer but I would think that it would distribute the finding bonus by share % on the pool. If you have 4.2GH/s that makes up 5% of p2pmining.com (example here), you would get 5% of the find bonus. But again, this is just my speculation and not a definitive answer.

P2pmining is a node of p2pool. Reward to p2pminig node is split by p2pmining users like in normal p2pool nodes.
BUT
You can NOT mine on your/public p2pool nodes and p2pminig using one address, it will NOT sum that way.
P2pming is great for smaller miner because it counts all SD1 shares not only SD~500 shares like normal p2pool nodes do. It makes much less variance for smaller miners.
It will look like this:
- reward for block: 50BTC
- p2pool rate: 250GH
- p2pminig rate: 50GH
- your rate: 1GH

reward for p2pmining: 50/250*50=10BTC
reward for you: 10/50*1=0,2BTC

If you mine directly on p2pool node/s you will get exact same thing: 50/250*1=0,2 Smiley

Sweet, that seems like a pretty big benefit. Once you're up and running again, you'll probably be finding quite a few of p2pool's blocks and that extra bonus is nice. Smiley

No, I was asking about the 0.5% block solving bonus. JayCoin already stated that transaction fees are paid out (it'd be kinda difficult for him not to pay them out anyway).

Cheesy

Thanks for that introduction to everyone. Smiley

Just throwing this out here but I do accept donations for server costs. I wish my server was free but alas, it's not. Oh well. At least the host is good. Cheesy
Address specifically for donations for Server Expenses: 142dCmsdPZBULoCDYuQfozFPR5JoeZR6iP

NOTE: Me getting donations will have NO IMPACT on p2pmining.com's operation. I will continue to operate it regardless of donations received. Sure, donations would be nice however they aren't by any means required because they are donations. I know this message is kinda redundant but oh well.

Again, I look forward to helping you all with server-side issues. Cheesy

EDIT: For those of you who are behind strict filtering firewalls and would like to try to mine litecoins, Please try and point your miner program at http://p2pmining.com:8080/.... If you can connect or can't connect, PLEASE Quote me in this thread. I just set up a redirect from 8080 on the VPS to 9327. If 8080 doesn't work, I'll need to figure out a port that will work. Also, once the bitcoin/Merged Mining part of the pool is ready, those of you behind said firewalls should try http://p2pmining.com:8081/ for BTC/Merged Mining.

Thanks again guys,
Veddy

Okay folks. I have some information regarding support inquiries to myself and JayCoin.

For any connectivity issues/security concerns about the server, I am the guy to PM. Any issues relating to p2pmining.com other than the aforementioned, JayCoin is who you should PM.

Just as an example, anything to do with 8080/8081 ports not working properly is my responsibility to address and correct. Transaction issue/wrong miner address is JayCoin's realm.

More often than not,  I will be checking this thread daily for issues that I haven't fixed yet/noticed. If you have a security concern about the server, PLEASE PM IT TO ME. DO NOT POST IT HERE.

Thanks again guys!

Veddy

EDIT: Yes I know, I'm crazy. <3
SECOND EDIT: I finally got port 80 mining to work! DNS still has to propagate around the net but once it's done you can point your minerd AND your bitcoin miner of choice to http://pool.p2pmining.com/. I just spent the past hour trying to figure it out with Wireshark on my home network. Turns out litecoin p2pool doesn't use HTTP POST /long-polling like the bitcoin side of things does. Instead it uses HTTP POST / and that's the filter. I'll have the thread updated by Jaycoin in the next couple days so it gets time to propagate around for you guys.

Do we need to re-register merged mining addresses?
