Here is my setup... both 'pool.p2pmining.com' and 'pool.p2pmining.com:9332', failed.. This works heh.. Change the port number in GUIminer to 80 with the url being pool.p2pmining.com and try again. That might be a miner issue tbch. I recommend BFG/CGminer for AMD/GCN/FPGA mining but that's me. Veddy

Hi again..
Is it just me or are the payouts low ? Plz tell me if I'm reading this right.
From what I see, the pool recently found 2 blocks/ 100 btc. So how is it that someone with 50%+ of the hash rate made less than 1 btc combined ?

All of P2P Mining's Bitcoins are mined through p2pool; the payout is just a small part of p2pool's payout amount.

P2pool currently has ~330 GH/s. P2P Mining has about 4 GH/s of that 330 GH/s.

Hi again guys, OK, just fired up a 5970 and am pointing it your way for starters - if all goes well I'll move some more over......glad to be aboard. Edit: I seem to be struggling with a fairly high DOA rate - currently @23%! I had similar trouble on p2pool, so it looks like my setup is a bit crook. My internet connection is pants, 0.5/1mb up/down, do you guys think this is an issue? I'm running GUIMiner with flags -v -w128 - tried a few different variations but it seems to make little difference.....anyone got any suggestions?

Even an 8mbit/3mbit down/up connection would work wonders for you. Unfortunately, there's nothing i can do server side as the server has a 1Gbps internet link. Veddy

Veddy Yeah, the joys of living out in the middle of nowhere......This is the fastest connection I could get after trying out of 3 different ISP's! Also have to use google dns servers as my ISP's are terrible, nothing but problems with them. No fibre optics out here.......

You might want to see if forrestv would be willing to implement the stratum protocol into the p2pool software. If he is up for that, I'd be happy to implement it into p2pmining.com as a test. Veddy

I apologize guys!
I effed up! My internet dropped to the dedi and i thought the dedi died. Nope. Just COMCAST being their usual shitty selves. Sorry about the short lapse of service. Waiting on Bitcoind and the other daemons to restart up.
Veddy EDIT: Waiting on I0Coin to restart up still.... all other coins are active.

For mining in p2pool you need change defaults in cgminer: in config: "queue" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "1",
or in command line: -g 1 -Q 0

Tried out GUIMINER and found these settings to work fine. Add a +1 to the end of your bitcoin address in Username to make sure you get diff 1 shares Right, thanks for that JayCoin. I ended taking my 5970 off as a quarter of it's work was being wasted. I'll point a 5870 at you with these settings and see how I get on. I've tried loads of different settings and read up on flags, and from what I can see, there doesn't see much difference between the -w128 & the -w256 flag Mhash wise - or am I reading it wrong? Complicated stuff to a noob like me......lol Thanks for all your help guys, love this stuff.

If you'd like, i can send you a pm on how to get an easy startup script for cgminer/bfgminer set up. Veddy

Hi Veddy,
Yeah, that would be great! I did try using that miner to begin with, but just couldn't get it to run, much more comfortable with the GUI type of thing to be honest, but I've read such good reviews of CGminer that it's a shame I can't use it. Am I right in saying that CGminer can also reduce mem clock? I can't get AB to go below a certain level on any of my cards, even with the user agreement hack that's mentioned on various threads.
Learning, learning, all the time.......lol
