The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I'm getting some weird errors when I try to check my balance at http://coin-control.appspot.com/.

"ValueError("invalid literal for int() with base 10: '1617771014.'",)"

Anyone else having this problem?

Me too, very talkative error message btw - I would suggest to use a custom 500-Error page in the future!

Also: Inline HTML!? Srsly? Google app engine supports Django templates!

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.

 I mined for ~8 hours at 363 Mhash/sec and only got 0.03BTC?

here is what coin control page says:

Statistics for 1LdTmUmG4Dmy4eAQpAaK21wByJwpYGwAaR

Balance is 0.03396917 BTC

Sorry, shares and hashrate don't work right now. Rest assured, your miners still work perfectly!

refreshes automatically every 5 minutes. send donations to 1BfKkqQK88kJcb2A6f5RY1x3WmdetzSVm9 Smiley

Pool rate is 30 GHash/s

Is there an official eligius forum or is this thread pretty much it?

I really don't mind if my code is showing, it gives more insight Smiley

I tried using plain error messages, but for some reason the framework I was using wouldn't really report error logs. Also, as well as for me not using Django in the first place, I'm too lazy to actually do templating Tongue

It's been reading it incorrectly.
Go directly here instead, and search for your ID: http://luke.dashjr.org/programs/bitcoin/pool/balances.json?
Right now, yours reads "balance":97805333, so around 0.978 BTC.

Working again now.

AOCLBF 1.75: POCLBM/Phoenix GUI (Build-In OC Tool).
Barely Clocked: Clock Speed/Voltage/Fan Speed Tweaking.

If I helped, I helped!

That address has been paid out by Eligius five times within the past two days, proof here: http://blockexplorer.com/address/17AtLW6bEkNESifTLFRcWUYAvfb7mnUkTz

Are you sure you aren't seeing those transactions in your Bitcoin client?  If that's your address then you absolutely should be seeing them.  Note that because they are generated off a block they will take 120 solved blocks to "mature" and be reflected in your account balance, but you should see the pending generated amounts immediately as soon as the block is solved.

Which transactions are supposed to have come from Eligius ? If you mean the last 5 ones I received nothing after the 4.46 bitcoins from deepbit on the 11th this month from nobody. Those more than 5 bitcoins in the last 5 transactions never made it to my account.

And here http://segv.net/bitcoin/ it says I earned 0.00 something, that I got payed 0.49 (no I wasn't not even that) and balance 1.0 something....

Nick, I really don't know what to say.  Those transactions are in the blockchain.  Ergo, you have access to them.  The only thing I can think of is if your address isn't actually 17AtLW6bEkNESifTLFRcWUYAvfb7mnUkTz, or if your Bitcoin client somehow isn't keeping up to date with the blockchain anymore.  Try restarting Bitcoin.  If that doesn't work, take a screenshot both of your "All Transactions" tab and the Settings -> Your Receiving Addresses popup window and post them here.  (Note that the only thing being displayed on these screenshots will be address hashes, so they're perfectly safe to release into the wild if you will; they aren't the private keys that are necessary to actually obtain access to your coints).

You shouldn't be using MyBitCoin.  When you use that site, all of your private keys are in someone else's hands.  Download and run the client on your local machine and, once you get a local receiving address, transfer everything from MyBitCoin to there.

Additionally I think we've heard some reported issues about MyBitCoin not working very well with pools.  It looks like that happened in this case.  The money did correctly go to that listed receiving address, but MyBitCoin isn't showing it as available to you in your account page.  I don't know what your recourse is.  Talk to them?  If you had been running the client locally you would have the BTC in your hands now.

Sad Ok but for the future can't you use the same system the other pools are using to avoid problems like this ? I contacted mybitcoin btw. Let's see if they'll fix it. If they refuse I will certainly consider not using them anymore.

I don't run Eligius, so it's not up to me.  But the system that Eligius is using is 100% valid; all it's doing is paying out its shares directly from generated blocks instead of using transactions.  The fault lies entirely with MyBitCoin for not properly supporting the entire Bitcoin protocol.  Losing 5 BTC sucks, but it's not the end of the world.  Heck, it may pay you back over time anyway, because you've only lost 5 BTC, but if you had kept using MyBitCoin, if it was ever compromised at some point in the future you would have lost everything.

And that's what makes Eligius the best pool ever Smiley
