CAPTcoin Economy needs Market Makers

Just as the CAPTcoin Dev Team is busy with developing the important technological side of CAPTcoin - API, faucet websites, merchant integration etc, we will also need to pay attention to CAPTcoin Markets to boost its value and discover its price.

Presently, CAPTcoin is traded in these exchanges viz.
1.   Bittrex.com
2.   Coin-swap.com
3.   Cryptoin.com
4.   Atomic-Trade.com
5.   bx.in.th

Most of the time, these markets are illiquid and one can buy or sell only at the nearest buy or sell order. These conditions will continue to prevail as we do not have the kind of volume like in Forex Market. But what’s worrying is the haphazard manner in which CAPTcoin markets behave. There are no Technical or Fundamental aspects or reasons behind these trades. The Sellers have been selling just because they get the coins free. Buyers have been few but buying because they think CAPTcoin’s value will increase in the future.

It’s mainly for this chaotic and unknown nature of the market, that we need Market Makers to be introduced into the CAPTcoin Markets to provide some sort of discipline and Orderly Price Movement as well as provide liquidity. If the market participants ie the buyers and the sellers trade for technical and fundamental reasons, orderly price movement will ensue with the help of the Market Makers.

Orderly price movements can be introduced into the markets possibly through self-fulfilled prophecy ie knowing beforehand and agreed by majority of traders that it’s time to sell or buy. This is possible using Technical analysis. Technical analysis can identify Buy, Sell or Neutral zone using the following Technicals:

1.   Overbought and Oversold conditions using oscillators like Stochastics, CCI or RSI
2.   Main Support and Resistance using Fibonacci and
3.   Elliot Waves

And also Fundamental news and events that affect the value of CAPTcoin like

1.   Acceptance or Rejection by a Merchant
2.   Acceptance or Rejection by an Exchange
3.   Some interviews or positive or negative news in any of the media
4.   Development of services around CAPTcoin and
5.   Any other events

Small traders are not able to move the market but a Market Maker with huge volume will be able to move the market by buying or selling a huge volume using the above mentioned Technical and Fundamental factors.

What we needs

To be able to do technical analysis, we need a trading platform like Meta trader and incorporate price of CAPTcoin into it. BTC-E already uses Meta trader to trade various Cryto-currencies like bitcoin, litecoins, namecoins etc.

We can get CAPT/BTC into Meta trader either by

1.   Getting listed in BTC-E.com or
2.   By manually loading the historical data of CAPT/BTC from these exchanges like bittrex etc into Meta trader. For this we need to download all available CAPT/BTC historical data. I haven’t tried loading the historical data into the Meta trader as  I do not have the CAPT/BTC Data but here is discussion on how to load into Meta trader: http://www.metatrader4.com/forum/2095

I think this should be possible.

Once we have the CAPT/BTC in Meta trader, we will now be able to do technical analysis and give forecast to the CAPT/BTC price.

Important CAPT Economy Player

We need Market Maker(s) that is capable to move market by trading large volume and keep the market liquid.  My suggestion is to form Funds atleast some 5-10 Funds in the line of Hedge Fund for trading purpose by pooling funds. All the CAPTcoin holders can contribute BTC or $ small or large into these Funds. These Funds will trade to profit and to take CAPTcoin to reach parity with BTC.

Nice ideas, CAPT really is not tradable right now because of the low volume. There is 0.11617767 BTC daily volume on Bittrex, and 0.83826519 BTC daily volume on Coin-swap. It is less than 1 BTC/day trading volume, and it needs an increase right now. No technical analysis would help with it, you will not find any meaningful indicator signals. Your second idea is a way to go, Hedge Fund could stop random price movements and bring volume to exchanges when traders see rational price movements. IMHO there's a need to collect at least 5 BTC, or 400.000 CAPT and concentrate on one exchange, the other will follow. Without two active exchanges you don't have arbitrage opportunities which attract volume, so maybe it's wiser to bring Bittrex up since Coin-swap already has larger amount of CAPT trading.

True! CAPT is in a nascent stage if we talking of chart patterns and using indicators to trade. It will take time and support from funds/dedicated CAPT/BTC traders.

Your idea of arbitrage trading using 2 or more exchanges is a risk free form of trading and also useful for more volume.  I encourage it.

If we are able to get together some investors/traders, pool funds and form some funds that are able to move markets, I think Elliot Waves could be a good guidance for the crowd.

These idealized 5-3 waves pattern are formed in  a period of 8 years and will get repeated in smaller time period too like 2 years, 6 months, 1 month, 1 weeks etc.

Price target is 0.01 BTC in 5 years (Sept 2019)

That's a great idea. I was also thinking that a direct exchange for CAPT/USD would make it easier for people who have CAPT and want them to be sold to USD.

I was recombining a total of 8 unspents of 65.044517 into a bigger pile
(coin control feature ON) it shows bytes over 1k, tx fee 0.00002, and after fee amount of 65.044497
so, I put the receiver same as sender then I copy paste the after fee amount into the send amount
I clicked send... yes... and noticed confirmation for 0.00001 fee (instead of 0.00002)
I didn't quite really care at that time and just clicked yes again to finalize

then I realized when it gets broadcasted and accepted in the chain, here is the transaction
the tx size turned to 994 bytes, fee of 0.00001 and automatically send the 0.00001 dust to my change address
? why suddenly the pre-calculated size changed? (hence the side effect would be lowered fee & dust change amount)

all I can think to avoid this to happen again next time is: I should not 100% trust the coin control info
and I should just put the receiving address in "custom change address" instead of as the recipient...

Meta trader is a good platform for analysis and very popular among forex traders. But there are other platforms too that are equally versatile  like java based platforms instead of from the metaquotes.

CAPT/USD pairing I guess might not be easily possible. Maybe if Ecua promotes and established our own trading platform incorporating the open sourced platform being discussed in bitcointalk, probably we could. But that's for those with coding skills to ponder (  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279773.0 ). A platform with only this pairs could do a lot for CAPT though:

Could be cool. But Its good only  when people are wishing to exchange USD or BTC for Captcoin. Right now exchanging to BTC is possible by selling CAPT in exchanges and then convert to USD.

it means that for a short moment the value will increase, so yeah you may wanna sell and make benefits. But after that the value will drop to its "normal" value, or whorse... that's the big danger of a Pump.

Exactly, last week (tuesday) price went from 1500 to 2100 in a few hours no matter that CAPT was *not* chosen for the pump, then price went back to 1500-1600 immediately that evening. People were buying CAPT just in case it would be chosen for pump, in that case price would go > 5000. Expect the same to happen tomorrow.
