At this time, we have no reason to believe that staking is broken, as several reports and tests have shown it to be working properly. The estimated stake time shown in the wallet is, like most other PoS coins, an estimate and maybe you have had a bad string of luck. Happens to the best of us. Please keep us informed after another day or so to see if it has worked itself out. Thanks.

Thank you for the answer!
When nothing happened 15 hours later I've started digging deeper and found the source of the problem.

My wallet wasn't enciphered [Settings-Encipher Wallet].
Unfortunately everything seemed ok, with no error or infomessage.

Yes, silly mistake. On the previous screenshot there was yellow lock symbol missing:

So I can confirm, staking works.
I've already received tiny ammount of APEX from staking.

It would be great if the wallet reported wallet encryption missing. Because it untruly writes: staking, as seen on previous screenshot.
Or better to have some staking guide as SilkCoin wallet does [with more comprehensible text step-by-step staking guide than SC has].

Do I understand correctly that after successfully receiving staking money the staked ammount has to "wait" 24hours?
Must be computer running during all that time?

Thanks!

I have tested this on an unlocked wallet, and staking worked as well. Maybe you just had to wait a little longer? As for the staked amount, it becomes available after 110 confirmations, which is almost 2 hours. Hope this information answered your questions. We did not create a guide on staking because there is already a plentiful amount of resources out there if you google it and we felt our energies would be better used elsewhere. However, if it becomes a problem a guide will be posted as a tab on our homepage, and a section added to our ANN OP.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Bitcoinium already does this. You can list any pair and set how often it updates, and from which exchanges. You can even set alarms so you get an alarm which it reaches a certain threshold. Very useful app/widget.

My app for this purpose is Bitcoin Checker, but APEX is not showing at Bittrex or Cryptsy atm.

Not exactly an app but a website that can help you keeping an eye on what you're doing in cryptoworld is imho CrypTrader

With Tor implementation and multipool coming, I see ApexCoin is poised for a big rise in price so best to buy cheap now before price rise to the APEX literally.   Wink

Devs' I know you are working hard getting things implemented but would it be possible to get a random update every now and again to tell us how things are going. You know, is the coding almost done and you testing in 7 hours. Or there is another glitch that you found and corrected. How pretty the new wallet is going to look etc.

The reason I ask is that over the past few days I have noticed that though devs are actively working, the quietness causes a few troubles.

Much appreciated...

For example, less trade and slow downward trend of coin value...
