Did Satoshi ever give his OK? It seems that the community has more or less accepted this?

Satoshi did not communicate, so we substitute him with Gavin.

So what was the final outcome? Cause the thread title still says 13622 and growing... I'm confused.

Sweet! I'm only asking cause apparently I pledged on page 2, but I didn't visit the forums in a long time and I was never PMed about it.

It doesn't look like I already sent the 50, so, where do I send it?

Thanks! The logo is just based on the name and the name was a nickname I randomly picked when I was 11 years old or so. Hope you're not disappointed at the total lack of a deeper meaning. Cheesy

Wow! This is really amazing and I know what I'm talking about as I edit videos. What software did you use for this? Adobe Aftereffects?

Yes, Adobe After Effects CS4 I believe.

In other news we've just submitted the video to http://www.webcuts.org/2011/ . It was free to submit so why not.

If any of you come across any contests, awards or film festivals with an animation/motion graphics category, let us know and we'll try and get it in. I don't know how high the chances are since the video is kind of a commercial, but hey Bitcoin is open-source and this is all indie stuff plus we've got nothing to lose in submitting it. Smiley

I have to agree here also! Smiley  I am new to this forum but not new to teaching the world around me about geeky developments that may interest the 'masses'... I have been having HUGE difficulty convincing/introducing people to Bitcoin.  Non-technical, and non-conspriatorial minded ones.  The few that are curious, got lost or hung up on the issue of it being created by "anybody"

I like the other description (which is much more correct) about all bitcoins having been created when the first block chain was generated by the protocol... but the word "protocol" also looses 99% of "normal" people.  So please, let's try and find a really snazzy and easy-to-understand way of communicating this.

I think we need to link it to some aspects of the computer world that the general public understands.  Things like Google, and Facebook... but alas, I have not got a good idea (yet) for how to do it.

Please help me (us) Smiley

Crossed 50,000 views.

Do the video's statistics point out a couple of problems though:?

1.) This video is most popular in: (Country)

[Where's the Spanish version, the Japanese version, etc.?]

2.) This video is most popular with: (Gender - Age)
  - #1 Male  35-44
  - #2 Male  45-54
  - #3 Male  25-34

I'm canceling mine as well, in part because one of my conditions was approval of accuracy from Sataoshi, which now seems unobtainable.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

So this project is pretty much now cancelled then? It was a promising project as well.

Happy birthday us!  Cheesy

Thanks everyone for making this possible! A lot of people have asked about a followup - right now I'm very busy and I can't promise anything, but WUC was certainly an awesome experience and I'd love to build on it in some form in the future.

One thing I can promise is that there is a (much needed) website relaunch incoming! If you have any comments or suggestions for that, please email them to info@weusecoins.com.
