My, quite a lively discussion between viacoin and bitcoin developers:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2pd0zy/peter_todd_is_saying_shoddy_development_on_v010/

Nice to see that Viacoin devs are committed to working with bitcoin devs to improve the entire crytpocurrency ecosystem, not just their own coin's. On a side note, it's also good to see that viacoin devs have the ear of folks like Gregory Maxwell and Pieter Wuille; it lends confidence to the viacoin project.

the discussion is valuable for both Viacoin  and bitcoin ,
anyway, altcoin is one way to promot the bitcoin , IMO.

Apparently it hard forked at the weekend. This could well mean that mine were lost Sad Fingers crossed mine were mined before the hard fork and when the pool reconnects they with get the confirmations!

Here's to hoping! Smiley

No, it means the pool failed to update as requested on Nov 1st for a planned hard fork three weeks later and has been out of sync ever since.

Sorry to hear that bigman. How many did you loose? The algo change made it much more profitable and predictable to mine via. Keep on mining man but choose another, more responsable, pool.

Lost just over 373 Sad That pushes my 300% ROI into about 45% for that rental Sad ah well, you win some you lose some lol

You lost 373 VIA?

Yep, mined them through the trademybit pool and they are clearly not going to be valid blocks it seems Sad The pool is still showing the last block as Saturday which is basically the last block I mined. They didn't switch to the new fork so I guess I am screwed unless the Devs decide to look favourably on me Wink lol

CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY is unique to Viacoin and will be key to any software needing to release value at a certain time. Think Family Trusts. Viacoin will do this quicker than any other method. Saas companies will pick up the Viacoin Notary to build on.

Buy Viacoin while all the Ripple hype continues!

So Via is not just a testbed for BTC.? It's aiming for specialist uses but sharing in an open way with all?
Has consideration been given to joining Blocknet? Or did I miss the discussions?
Would like to know what devs and community think Via will become.

btw, there is a mining farm which will have configurable asics for mining all algos out there. This will kill once and for ever the myth of asic resistance. Nice to have scrypt power with Via.

I thought there will be no merge mining.

its beeing tested and I doubt that all the work you can see on github is just for fun. How do you conclude that there will be no merge mining?
