VIA "to the moon".
That's my vote Smiley

I hate that expression! Grin VIA will not have the MOON's destiny. I can even preddict that it will be listed on OKCoin in 2015!!! Wink
Yeah, same here. Tried to show some sarcasm heh.
That's why it's in italic Grin

Yeah keep dreaming, I just dumped my last 3k VIA. The coin hasn't reached the first page of Bittrex since last century. Only bot trading this coin as many other coins on life support.

Great.. you can now buy some XPY with your BTC and stay realistic. Smiley

XPY made me a lot of money  Wink Just admit it that only bag holder left in VIA.

Hey KeyserSozeMC, few weeks there was a buzz about a game platform adding VIA (can't remember) How did that went or was it an exit strategy for the whales ? Huh
I am not sure about that gaming platform tbh. Haven't been focused on any coins lately, been busy with some projects of mine.
Got any info on that gaming platform?

Hey, smexy. Don't waste your time. Time's precious.

It was pumped based on Zynga adding VIA.

I wonder if someone can explain this statement in the blog about checklocktimeverify:

"...and can even replace the need for lawyers in inheritance trusts."

How? Maybe I am misunderstanding. If I send coin with a time lock, I still no longer have the coin any more right? Basically isn't the coin owned by the address it was sent to but locked (unspendable) until that time passes?

So, I can't send all my money to my heirs with a lock, cause I then lose access to those coins.

What am I missing?

Article about BIP 65 / OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY
Author is not referring to Viacoin as the cryptocurrency that has implemented it already.

Would be nice to see a follow-up piece from cointelegraph that focuses on Viacoin it's implementation of BIP65, merged mining and other projects Clearinghouse etc...

Contact them. The post in question was a guest post afaik, from Gavin. I agree his article wasn't that great in terms of accuracy regarding Viacoin, but I think that's something you the community should be on top of.

Merry Xmas.

Read the article mentioned above:

".....Suppose two parents give their child 10 BTC and send it to a multisignature address with 3 signatures. Mom and Dad each have an individual private key, and the child has a private key. In order to make the funds spendable, Mom and Dad must both sign the transaction.

Any other combination of two (the child and the mom or the child and the dad) will not unlock the funds. However, once a certain amount of time passes, say a year, the child can release funds with either parent’s private key. The additional functionality of BIP65 protects the funds from being spent prior without permission of both parents, and in case of a disaster, only one parent is needed to release the funds...."

im seeing data varying across a few pools that i mine for this coin, such as block, difficulty & network hash are showing different between the pools, has the wallet update caused a fork already? these numbers are usually always the same from what I have seen in the past.. how would I know? one of the pools does show the wallet version being used and is current, maybe I should stick with that one for now?

There is no fork yet, however there are some pools like trademybit which never upgraded to 0.10.5. Just look at the pools finding blocks here: http://explorer.viacoin.org/blocks

Seems the viacoin network got a Xmas present: The network successfully transitioned to merged mining a little earlier than intended at block 551885 so pools may begin merged mining right now. It also means that any 0.10.5 nodes will have been forced off the main chain at block 551885. Make sure you upgrade.

I can confirm everyone important on the network has already upgraded to 0.10.6.x like Bittrex, Bter, most pools, etc. etc.

Awesome news, could use a press release, what happened ?

+1
I agree that a press-release saying that we have successfully merged-mined de-facto, and what it means is the right move.

... and WELL DONE smoothly as always btcdrak!!!
