Can anybody tell me how minting works?
I had 73498 FAIR total in my wallet (recovered from Mintpal v1) divided by 2 transactions (50 000 + 23 498).
After 24 days (why 24?) the 50k part of my balance became "transaction is mature".
Today they minted 88 FAIR (why 88?) and 206 FAIR (why 206?) in a few hours. After that there appeared two new transactions for every old transaction in the minting view. Old ones were divided by 2 and there are now 4 transactions (25103, 25103, 11793, 11793).
And they are all zero age!
I have to wait for 24 days again to mint something else?

Mint Faircoins

You can participate as a FairCoin active node anytime by using the software on your computer, waiting for 21 days, and then start minting. Meanwhile, you can participate by mining (POW).

After 21 days, if your coins haven’t been moved from your wallet, you can begin contributing to the network with POS. At that moment your wallet will begin to have a % chance of minting which will be reflected in the official “minting view” tab on the faircoin wallet.

Wallets with the most faircoins are likely to find a block faster. Another factor affecting the chances of finding blocks is the concept of “age”, which makes minting probability grow each day after day 21, up to day 90.

Notice that once you discover a new transaction block, its minting status is set back to 0 and the process starts over.

Hello all,

After more than 75 days without an exchange with volume enough, and remembering that the price before mintpal closing was
around 1500 satohis, its logical that some random users with faircoins holdings and without real interest in whar are we doing, are creating some sell pressure between 1600 and 2500 satoshis.

Otherwise, the order book in bittrex is yet very tiny and its normal that the people willing to sell are going faster than the people willing to buy..
the big variations or prices at short term that is not so good and some times difficult to understand for people that are newbie to this kind of markets..

Therefore here are some proposals and suggestions for the people that wants to be involved at the level that we could call "market cooperation"

- If you are saving faircoin and you have enough, but also you are storing some bitcoins, or could be liked to do it, you could cooperate to creating buying walls at the level of 1000 - 2200  (going more close to 2200 if you are more likely tu buy and more close to 1000 if you really dont want to buy) this is very important to create trust in the market for people that dont have enough with all our plans 

- If you need to sell big amounts of faircoin, because for example you need to pay some bills, return a loan, or... you got you buy wall filled and you really dont want to save more faircoin,  you can PM me; i have contact with investors willing to buy big amounts that they dont could get in the market easily.


Like you know we are working in set up fairmarket in january. (dont know yet the exact deadline)  to make this possible at real life level, we need to build a market with:
- stability enough. (no more than 10% daily spread), to create enough stability for price reference.
- volume enough to make possible and easier to get in and get out, for consumers and producers.

So if you wants to be involved in faircoin, the exchange market is one of the fronts where you can help 


pd: right now yet all my buys has been filled, and i will not have more until 2 days, so is a good moment to find some replacements 

pd2: i think that there are not more than 2-3 milions of faircoin able to be sold in open market at short term (most of people is saving for long term), so this 150000 sold in bittrex is already about 5-7% of this...

Wait could be a respectable individual actitude here, but as a FairCoop and Faircoin developement team,  what matters, is that we are working hard, smart, and fair, to make possible this big project     And what matters is the relation between serious work and success.

I have some experience in this kind of projects. for example i was working for some years putting in risk all my economy and my freedom before launching Catalan integral Cooperative (see details for example in this extended interview -> http://cooperativa.cat/en/integral-revolution/ )
which is a great succes five years after the launch.

So if you are a random visitor here, you are free to share with us your uninformed comment, but before of this i could suggest to search a bit and read...

Yes, today we can see that more than selling pressure, there was one or two sellers dumping yesterday,
but also we have yet a too much tiny orderbook to do conclusions, because now all the market movements could be done by too much few people...

for solving the problems that we relate below, without increasing the possibility for an hypotetical scammer to make unrecoverable the coins or sell for bitcoins. Now we think that this possibilities are reduced enough to make it public and require the collaboration of the faircoin community.

- how the situation of mintpal coins arrived to the hands of Faircoin development team

The Mintpal Wallet contained:                      14946903.112935999408 FAIR
The balance of the account data counted:   21787698.41457512 FAIR
Faircoins withdrawed in mintpal v2:               -243666,36021 FAIR
Coins missing:                                               -6597129,30163912

- how we have procedeed the withdrawal of mintpal coins.

Smartaction had an account in mintpal of 9079874,833373 faircoin that belongs to a cooperative investment fund in benefit of different local projects.
He decided to give the advantage to other holders to withdraw their coins first, and everyone had the oportunity to receive their coins
and at least three weeks of time to do it.

Therefore the current  7174225,79808514 * in https://chain.fair-coin.org/address/fFcy7XH7hY7o4BwaRgkFQVooM9m4dZGUwZ
will be withdrawed by smartaction and after this yet will be missing 6597129,30163912

- Next steps
After this, we need your help for finishing the analysis where the lost coins are, and confirm if we have data enough to recover it and if it makes sense to do it.

At the technical level Thomas has done a development to make possible to recover lost coins from the blockchain, therefore
all depends if we are secure enough about what needs to be done, and if the community support our plan.

In fact, we have done already a lot of work this past weeks related blockchain analysis and we discovered that the first thesis that mintpal v1 told us does not makes sense enough. Therefore there is no proof that this coins are in the hands of Ryan/aleen green from moolah, at least not most of them.
An important proof of this is there are not enough unidentified coins in addresses younger than march 31 (data of mintpal beginning) to cover this 6.6 M coins.
The most probably option is that Mintpal V1 suffered in the early days of faircoin in mintpal, (march 31 - april 8 ; when faircoin had unvoluntary hard forks) from a block chain fork, a bug or a hack. If this is true, they credited coins to the balance of users when they actually shouldn't have.

Well, now, particularly, what we want now is to confirm if the addresses with a big amount which are not identified, belong to anyone that is reading us, or if are stolen or lost. So they are an investment COOP? Are they going to get involved with Faircoin?

Yes, they will in Fair.Coop and Faircoin. About faircoin has been talked about to invest a part of the profits in faircoin to donate to a fair.coop fund.
Also some kind of commons product investing in faircoin and robin hood coop at same time could be possible. There are a good feeling of mutual aid, and a lot of options are possible.

Yet they are not very big, but they are developing fast and has opened an office in silicon valley some months ago. We are going to help also in their development for mutual goals..

Now that the coin is traded again it will be great to know how many coins are in circulation
As this details should effect the intrinsic value.

How many coins are saved for Coop purposes?
And how many Mintpal coins were not claimed?

 

I dont have time right now to do the accounting of coins not moving from long term, buy anyway, there are a lot of people saving faircoin
for long term,  not only the coop funds. Therefore if you want to count coins able to be in the daily market, these are a small % of the total...
