I hope is much more secure at least as mintpal, but well even a safe exchange like mtgox if the admin turns out to be a complete asshole and create the biggest scam of "being" hacked anything could happen with this new exchange.

it is custom backend so you will need us to help manage it. we do not want control of it. again we are looking for investors to take it off our hands we can do a split for the voot community and ourselves for between proceeds for funds. we need to understand who will control it and what the payment options are, you will need us to help control it and add different things. someone can buy it outright if they want and maintain in control. the options are open for everyone to get involved with it. we want price options though we want bidders and we want to secure funding for it. also maximise involvement.

Yeah, imagine that. And guys I really didn't want to post anything until you had your big night here (I dumped around 700 and stated as much) and a chance to recover your bag holdings, but this exchange isn't going anywhere.

Would you launch Bittrex and have no idea who actually owns it, or how it would run? This is insanity and what several of us were trying to get to the bottom of last week. Put this mess up against a real exchange over TOR, or CounterParty/CounterWallet and you have a stillborn. And now you see (and the price reflects) that even the fundamental belief the thing was paid for was BS. I spent about 100 USD of my own money setting up an escrow for the Smoke guys to hurry up, and it was a calculated risk as I held several hundred thousand VOOT, but as time passed it's just too obvious that this entire saga is just BS and needs to stop. I don't have the hump about it as that's gambling, and I know there are plenty of you out there holding huge bags bought at much more. Hope isn't going to get you right though guys but common sense, reality, and a solid game plan will.

I didn't think much of Jefferson's PR skills, but he did make an offer that is in my mind a good idea. Get some fresh (Verified - Crypto Asian) development blood into this coin. Get rid of MsCollec once and for all (Assuming Jefferson isn't MsCollec, who knows? That fud was mentioned.), forget all of this SmokeTeam BS as nothing they are working on is even minimally related to VOOT itself, and build upon the solid foundation that VOOT already is. The BTC38 listing is good. It brings in fresh BTC and allows the truly butthurt bag holders to get out. Follow that up with Jefferson's offer as long as Jefferson is Jefferson and not MsCollec and his developers are verified, and then this coin will actually appreciate. I know I will be back in buying at that point.

VOOT has some great features already delivered. Man the network is fast and everything works even with Anon. If Jefferson/Whale can rid this coin of MsCollec and the entire Smoke fiasco once and for all I think it will do well on it's own, but it can never gain value with so much BS hanging over it. No one is going to take these chances with so many other well led coins out there.

I still hope you guys have your big night, but someone needed to say it.

Actually, do we have any idea who REALLY owns Bittrex? And since crypto really isn't money legally in most countries the owners of Bittrex could run off anytime they want with everything without any charges.  In Japan, for example, the theft of all of those Bitcoins from MtGox was legally equivalent to someone stealing equipment from an on-line character or something.  Whoever did it might get a couple of months in jail or a fine or something.  For Cryptsy, as long as the owner didn't touch the Fiat deposits he could also take everything and get away basically Scot free.  This is a just the risk we take dealing with crypto currencies.

I agree, I think we need to build a sort of foundation of "us", so even if mscollec jumps on we still outweight his decisions, as a foundation, we could multisig the exchanges wallets, thus on the foundation have certain people picked at random to spend 1 hour watching over the exchange, but it still does not allow decentralized control

I heard from a "friend in the industry" that at least two of the major Exchanges are behind lot of the Voot FUDing to try and kill the exchange.  Key quote: "Kill the baby in the crib".

A new exchange with a good gimmick (like the anon/TOR thing) can grab all kinds of market share.  After all Who cares where you sell your Dogecoin or whatever if it is fast, not obviously scammy and has some neat features?

Smart people get their coin off the Exchange to their own wallets ASAP anyway.
