I agree. However, these type of projects rely upon community support and community support is based upon confidence....the under handed appearance of the roll out may effect confidence. If they will throw the community under the bus now to take profit, what will they do later? From a purely game theory point of view, I guess their move was brilliant, but it doesn't say much about their moral integrity, nor the future of the Particl project.
I fail to see how the team could be accused of throwing "the community under the bus". It's as if some of you read a completely different announcement. The only way to get PART is by swapping SDC. Did you follow the BTCD -> Komodo transition when it happened? They allowed people to swap BTCD for KME or to buy KMD with BTC alone and raised over 3000 BTC (~ $2.3m at current rates). The team here could easily have opened the funding to non-SDC holders and earned magnitudes more money if this really was a "cash grab" as you put it. But no, out of consideration for the people who've stuck by them throughout the years they've decided that only SDC holders can participate. The team appears to be positioning PART to become a top-5 crypto project. The inclusion of Amazon in the comparison chart gives some idea of the scale of their ambitions. Not only that, but they plan to do it on a shoestring budget. Compare their goal to the amounts raised in recent crypto crowdfundings: - LISK - 14k BTC/~$13.3m
- WAVES - 30k BTC/~$28.6$m
- ICONOMI - various currencies/>$10m
And you call their funding goal of $750k a "cash grab"? It's a ludicrous accusation. It's laughable. The developers absolutely deserve to earn a living wage for their continued work on this. Furthermore, amongst all this noise here I haven't seen a single mention of the fact that a CLI version of the marketplace has been completed. This is huge news and obviously means the GUI won't be far behind. Combined with the hiring of the professional PR Firm (see what good PR has done for the success of DASH), the Swiss foundation, the move to the newer Bitcoin codebase and god know's what else they have up their sleeves and PART is looking like the one of the most exciting projects around. This is just standard trader tactics to cause panic for cheap coins, it happens daily in crypto. Pumpers gunna pump.

I've mentioned your points quite a few times actually. The idiots here saying boohoo are pointless wastes of my energy. Don't waste any of yours. If anyone is throwing anyone under the bus its these twits throwing the developers under the bus. The very developers that have made some of them decent money! *stares at vtr99* You dumbass jerkoff! I've decided that they don't even need defending. This deal is done and its fantastic news. Its a fantastic future outlined and if people want to cry then so be it. Its not likely they will ever understand whats good for them, ever!

---snipped--- Fair enough, i understand you see it that way, personally i don't. I see it as poor character to point fingers at the developers decisions. I see it as poor character and low quality moral fiber to point fingers at the devs in this case. Especially in regards to people making poor decisions in relation to a game being played with the token. Id like you to point out to me someone who actually supports this project properly who is hurt by all of this. Show me someone who isn't still in profit, someone who has been actually supporting this project for more then 2 months! Sorry but all your (everyone agreeing with you) all of your arguments don't fly with me. This whole "boohoo investor, naughty developer" narrative some of you are attempting to legitimise is to me, pointless. Its a waste of your energy. @vtr99 its obvious you are now desperately recruiting. Its super strange and super sickening! Cash grab here:" How is the token exchange structured? To participate in the Particl token exchange, you must have ShadowCash (SDC) tokens. Participants will have two contribution choices and a variable rate added to the bonus after day 3: Days 1-3: Donate 1 ShadowCash (SDC) + $0.15 (BTC) = 1.15 Particl (PART) Donate 1 ShadowCash (SDC) = 1.00 Particl (PART) Days 4-28: Donate 1 ShadowCash (SDC) + [variable market-based function] (BTC) = 1.15 Particl (PART) Donate 1 ShadowCash (SDC) = 1.00 Particl (PART)" Here:" Will there be any other funding rounds after this one?Yes. When we create the genesis block for Particl the designated amount of tokens (per this seed round exchange) will be generated. Additionally, a second batch of tokens will be hard-coded for release at a publicly pre-determined block height approximately 9-10 months out from the genesis block. This funding round will not take place until after the public beta launch of the Particl Market and the establishment of the Particl Foundation. This allotment of tokens will represent a 10% increase in supply and will be made available through the Primary Funding Round at a designated date in the future." And here:" What will happen to any unclaimed PART tokens?" At the end of the 4-week exchange period, the team will announce the total number of PART not exchanged with their respective SDC. Upon the launch of Particl, these PART will be donated to the foundation to be used for the continued development of the Particl Project." Why the pre-announcement dump? It just looks like greed....that's all.is there an official thread to the Particl project? Looks like they changed something in their FAQ about the unsold ("unclaimed") tokens.. What will happen to any unclaimed PART tokens?
At the end of the 4-week exchange period, the team will announce the total number of SDC exchanged 1:1 for PART and the total number of SDC exchanged 1:1.15 for PART. The remaining PART not claimed will be split 80/20 with 80% going to the seed round participants and 20% donated to the foundation to be used for the continued development of the Particl Project.
Where did you find that? I got mine here: https://particl.io/#faq-a17EDIT: It has be changed. It now states: " What will happen to any unclaimed PART tokens? At the end of the 4-week exchange period, the team will announce the total number of SDC exchanged 1:1 for PART and the total number of SDC exchanged 1:1.15 for PART. 15% more bonus for BTC over SDC. No point in holding SDC in anticipation of Particl right?
I can't find any evidence this is true ,,,,,, looks like FUD to drop the price ,,,, its not in the IO ,only sdc can be converted That is what I read too. Although I was wrong about the code. Says it will still be open source. Current SDC BUY ORDERS just on Polo Total: 675.11876801 BTC 675 btc. wooww lol... you quoted an old reply.. the current buy orders on polo is 175 btc and going down....

What will the dev team/ "foundation" do with the "donated" SDC tokens? Will they be burned? Kept in a wallet for future sell in market or sell after exchange? They plan to collect 3.32 million (cap / goal) which is 50% of SDC in circulation based on coinmarketcap. What will happen to remaining SDC? And ShadowCash project itself - will it be abandoned? From FAQ Will the token exchange be capped?
Yes, technically it is necessary to submit SDC tokens in order to receive PART tokens. Once (or if) all SDC tokens are converted into PART the exchange will be complete. At the end of the 4 week period, no more exchanges will be allowed.)

That " all" could also mean all 6,641,021 SDC in existence. So is there a 3.32 million SDC cap - or not?

It's fairly clear now... 3.32 million is a "goal", not a "cap". They will take all SDC for a month, after deadline April 15th *** SDC will cease to exist ***... The remainder not converted will go 80% to "seed round participants" and 20% to "foundation" (in the form of PART). So you have a month to get a good price for SDC... Plus everybody gets a piece of all SDC not converted (in the form of PART)... Also, in about 9 months PART gets diluted by about 10%. Considering they unilaterally, ruthlessly decided to kill SDC *** in order to go mainstream ***... It's actually as good deal for SDC holders as could be imagined. So PART starts out with a cap of about $10,000,000 (but they are shooting for Top 10 alt)... Plus Polo is gonna pump the shit out of this bitch.

SDC SHADOW, ring size .., to SDC lalala (S.................................)?". and Yes button, I get a Send coins Error: Invalid Stealth Address.

I've tried to read through the Particl docs. and FAQ but I want to know this: There are currently: 6,644,856 SDC ( https://chainz.cryptoid.info/sdc/) Your goal is to raise (convert): 3,320,000 SDC That leaves: 3 mill. plus SDC or is 3,320,000 a minimum and you are hoping to convert all of the SDC or will you stop at 3,320,000? So, if 3,320,000 is converted, does that mean that the 3,320,000 SDC will be 'destroyed' burnt? It does not say in the FAQ. Will the SDC network continue to run along side Particl with 3 mill. plus SDC? Sorry, but this isn't made clear. Can someone fill me in please. ED: ...or, if me and others hold a substantial amount of SDC and set up nodes etc. the network will continue along side Particl and still be listed at Polo? Has anyone been in contact with Polo?

I have to admit the rules on this fundraising are not very clear. Can someone shed some light on this? Example: I have 100 SDC, I send them to the address generated on the dashboard and get 1:1 credit of PART. Ok this part is clear. What about the BTC? Can I send 1000$ worth of bitcoin? Or just 0.15 $ worth of bitcoin per SDC? In this case 100 SDC -> 100 x 0.15 $ = 15$ worth of bitcoin?? Is the 0.15 $ bitcoin bonus in any way connected to the amount of SDC already deposited? This is really not clear...
Edit: The way it reads right now on the FAQ is like this: For every 1 SDC you donate you will receive credit for 1 Particl. For the first 5 days, if you choose to additionally donate $0.15 worth of Bitcoin you will receive 15% bonus credit in Particl. I can send 100000 SDC for example, receive 100000 PART. Then send 0.15 $ of bitcoin (0.0001489 BTC atm) and get 15000 PART. That is just ridiculous...

Did you create an account and see how it works? Why not? They are creating SDC number + 15% PART = 7,640,000 PART... So 100% of SDC will be "converted"... maybe a tiny rump network will keep running with "community" Devs... so what? Idiots are saying PART network will be worth $1,000,000... GTFO. Guys, if you don't think PART is gonna fly, OK... But SDC was just a wallet flogging the same market mockup for 2 years... and got to $30,000,000 cap or whatever. We are talking rolling SDC bubble into a bigger PART bubble with the help of Polo and whales... You wanna see a certain sociopathic ruthlessness on the part of the Pump Group.
