Is a pump group unethical? What if we just decided to all pump the price to 40,000 satoshi on January 7th? Hey it worked for paycoin they just claim their coin is going to be worth 20 dollar, and bam the market eats it up.
pumps always leave someone short handed. the artificial support eventually gets pulled for profits.

No, paycoin manipulated their price by burning their cap based off their demand. They basically created their supply based off demands. Now I like this kind of action in a thread. People complaining about the price implies that people are invested on a personal level. That is good to see since this is the FUCKING HOLY GRAIL. If you are in it for the tech then you know that an anon crypto will get ridiculous volume on the dark markets and all it takes is to be vetted by peers as working anon which hasn't happened for ANYONE yet. Ryno already shat his golden egg, now it is up to his market of peers to determine if it is in fact pure gold. Time will tell. Also skip don't compare to dark. Their market is highly volatile.

The truth is nobody outside of this thread really knows about SDC and this time of the year nobody is paying attention to the market or news for that matter. It's one of the reasons why governments are known for passing laws that are unfavorable to the populace. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Reserve_ActPassed the Senate on December 18, 1913 (54–34) Reported by the joint conference committee on December 22, 1913; agreed to by the House on December 22, 1913 (298–60) and by the Senate on December 23, 1913 (43–25) Signed into law by President Woodrow Wilson on December 23, 1913http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/14120-obama-signs-2013-ndaa-may-still-arrest-detain-citizens-without-chargehttp://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2012/01/obama-signs-controversial-defense-bill-new-years-eveNext month is a fresh start for the project and Shadow is the strongest contender to the anon crown. The public will be more receptive to press and progress. We've got everything lined up ready to go. Either contribute or please just stop complaining.. it's really getting old.

What perplexes me is why people are bending over backward to claim that shadowsend doesn't use (something very close to the) the cryptonote design for anonymous coins. It's a great system, the best one around. Your project and developers should be congratulated for choosing it and apparently implementing it effectively.
Instead this turns into a food fight over claims of "No, it's completely new!" (which as someone else pointed out is rather silly even if it weren't incorrect with respect to cryptonote, since every single coin is copied from bitcoin) and who is supposedly advertising in your thread. Silly.
Just give cryptonote their due credit for their part of all this (which is sort of done in the white paper since they are listed as a reference) and get back to the business of building and promoting the coin.
The reason for the behavior could be that they were told Shadow would get "ZK" and that would blow everyone's minds and make Shadow stand out and make everything else obsolete. It's tough to give up that thought. Give it up? Why? All of what you just said is accomplished. "Your move ill-odin…"
(with russian* accent) http://www.monitor.co.ug/image/view/-/1909066/highRes/539956/-/maxw/600/-/3guimc/-/news003px.jpg*georgian to be precise What I meant was all the talk previously that "snarks can be slotted right in" and "it will blow everything else out of the water" etc as if it was just around the corner and in the works, and now it looks like snarks are coming only if someone somewhere figures out how to do it efficiently and publishes a white paper, and it's not even clear if that's even possible. But if/when that happens, anyone can implement that into their coin.

THERE IS ONLY ONE QUESTION…
DO WE OR DO WE NOT HAVE THE MOST COMPELLING ANON SOLUTION IN CRYPTO TODAY?
THE ANSWER IS YES…
why?
We can operate with full ZK in a BTC marketplace. We are THE ONLY coin that can perform this magic. This is Satoshi…
We hook right in to existing API's with full ANON…
WE are not cryptonote. OuR DB is stable. Our wallet is Guified. Our anon secure.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT? We got it covered…
FUCK YEAH! \o/
p.s. this aint about the money, its about screwing the MAN. Dammit thats why BTC was invented…

Take the reigns. Give him a call. Have him set up a ShadowCash donation address (and announce it) and it sounds like it would help to get us on his radar. I sent him an e-mail telling him about Shadow and asking him to check it out and give his opinion. I sent him a bunch of links to white paper and CoolStoryTeller's slide presentation. Also I asked him about a donation address. Hopefully he will get back to us soon. I am willing to donate, hopefully others will join in. Donated it in a premine. Just sayin.

Hey guys, bad news kind of. Kristov Atlas e-mailed me back. He said he hasn't looked into ShadowCash much. And he said he accepted a job recently, so he doesn't have any spare time to look into ShadowCash at present unfortunately. He did say however, that it looks cool and he will bookmark the links I sent for the future. Oh well, hopefully we can find some other avenues to get ShadowCash the proper reviews it deserves.

Hi Skip60, are you constantly so funny? I do not know what you've waited so long, feel free to go to a coin where they have daily news. You have my permission. I hope that the price will remain low for so long that mice as you go out without profit! Ryno has coded shadowsend v2, and open sourced it. It is now currently in the phase where that code is being peer reviewed and also compared with competitor solutions. This is currently in process by qualified persons.
And yes, Ryno deserves a Christmas break. If you only knew how many hours he put into ZK. He probably slept 8 hours for every 72 hours the last month. Skip60, you contribute nothing to this project except negativity... you selling out would be a plus for shadow from my perspective.
Let the weak hands sell.
(..) All right, +1 here. ..so many great posts here recently, waste of space to quote them all. You, my dear Shadow community, have my respects.

We could try a marketing bounty. I don't at all mean to advertise SJXC because this thread is not about SJXC, but look what they are currently doing to get the word out about their coin: https://storjtalk.org/index.php?topic=2202.0They're giving away free coins to the first 50 people who post ten replies to their bitcointalk threads and ten unique tweets containing their handle and a hashtag. Maybe this can be organized by the time the marketplace is ready.

The only "problem" of SDC is
a) that people have been burned off too many times by scamcoins / p&d coins that were trying to get into the anon market with false promises
b) the lack of technical knowledge to evaluate whether a solution is real or scam (which led to (a) in the first place)
For me it is clear that SDC is in the running in the anon market along with DRK and Cryptonote coins. Is any solution perfect? No, as most solutions have big tradeoffs, but at least they aren't vaporware / promises / "white papers" etc.
Technically speaking, it'd be interesting for the dev team to run a testnet simulation to check anonymity and bloat / scaling impact, as well as spam attack vectors against the blockchain.

There were performance tests mentioned in section 5 of the whitepaper: 5. Performance 5.1. Proof Sizes The affine coordinates are 64 bytes per ring member per coin value. We store the public key or keyImage, which is 33 bytes That leaves us with ~97 bytes / ring member / input 5.2. Benchmarks The following benchmarks were done on an Intel(R) Core(TM) i73537U CPU @ 2.00GHz with 8GB of RAM, using the average times out of 300000 iterations: Algorithm Ring members Average Time Average time / ring member Signing 200 449ms 2.25ms Verification 200 440ms 2.2ms

Of which 400 DRK came from me That was back in the days when I was still a DRK millionaire and money seemed to grow on trees. Should've cashed out above $10 No big deal though since SDC will make me a millionaire again soon. Would donate big amounts to support this coin as well.
