Some people might have been margin called (or voluntarily took the losses).
I put those coins to the markets for 2.00 % per day.

This Azure exposure has created a real opportunity... I'd be interested to hear what kind of things people think could be done easily with monero blockchain as a service on Azure?

I like Monero and have some but I have to say that just about everyone is partnering with Microsoft's Azure now.  Add VCASH, Syscoin, Bitshares, and others to this list.  Each time these announcements were made the price of the coin followed.  Maybe there is something different with Monero, fun to watch anyway.

I love Bitcoin

This could be the start of an epic year. Monero in 2016 may be what bitcoin was in 2013.

I certainly hope so.  The Azure news is really good for Monero for sure.

Yep, it adds legitimacy.  People cant say Monero is just about dark net or drugs.

For sure it is great news but as you said What kind of things can be done? And it is with the Monero blockchain? Can someone explain this?

Thx in advance,

Alice and Bob want to enter an agreement and have that agreement authenticated by a trustless system. Alice and Bob don't want Eve to know about their agreement. Alice and Bob want to be able to show Jim that their agreement is authentic.

If Alice and Bob authenticate their agreement on Bitcoin (or any other public ledger), Eve will know about their agreement.

If Alice and Bob authenticate their agreement on Monero (or any other private ledger with optional transparency), Eve will NOT know about their agreement but they can still show Jim that it is authentic.

There are nuances and many stipulations of the aforementioned arguments, but thats the distilled version (AFAIK).

edited to add:

So basically what the azure news means is that developers creating this type of stuff can now load a monero environment at whim, instead of having to .... spin up their own VPS and download some bins.

I'm curious - does the Azure instance include an up-to-date blockchain?

Frankly I think Alice is a bitch, Bob should know better, and Jim has serious psychological issues.

It's Eve who I feel sorry for.

I've heard this too many times in the past and everytime it was said we revisted that level.

I speculate the wallet is pretty much ready but they want to postpone it a little... It would be cool to get it out on the second anniversary.

Holy wow!  This is a much better version of this - I love it, but now I feel guilty my big ol head is larger than others who have clearly contributed much more than me.  But still, an amazing improvement on the picture.  Cheesy
