But why did it need for him to open the wallet for his coins to start getting sent to another address? His computer was prolly the thing that was compromised rather than 'Atomic'?
The reason he watched it go was because he hadn't opened the wallet since before the theft. So when he logged in and the blockchain was catching up, those withdrawals all came up one after another. And you're right, he lost his private key one way or another. Pretty sure Atomic is a desktop program and he could have lost him through his clipboard. He could have lost them through malware that could look at files. There's a lot of ways. It's also interesting because this is someone who had so much menero that losing nearly a half million dollars of it didn't make them blink. Narrows it down a little and squarely puts them in the possibility that they have been a part of this community at some point or another.

I seem to remember we were questioning atomic about their source when they advertised in here.

Owchie this part of the volatility is not the fun one. par for the course! This time I think the dumpers are going to seriously regret it unless its paper on that kucoin exchange. I checking into it and its a shady unknown and probably playing with binances playbook. Registered in a no extradition county island off Madagascar.

Until it isn't because it's Russian roulette. It's a bit fantastic, but I would not be surprised if we saw a dramatic take down of something like an exchange like that. Some kind of rug pull because someone's gonna have to pay the piper in the end. I guess the people who might be doing this have to be considering Plan B and Plan C. And if we did have the fortune to watch that happen, it would be something that I hope Bitcoiners see for the full reality of what it is, because this same risk is flooded into Bitcoin, even though Bitcoin is transparent. I'll be interested if you have any more thoughts on Kucoin or the like.

Of course, the Bitcoin price action right now is not any fun, but I have been comforting myself somewhat with the Monero Bitcoin pair, which has been doing nothing but improving recently.
Interesting times, interesting dynamics.

Cool, haven't even looked at that pair since we lost .008.

Yeah, nice not having the scarcity diluted with fucking fake injected liquidity derivative paper, isn't it. Eventually everyone will figure that out and only 18 million coins.

Crazy price action these days, and we have yet to endure the worst. The good thing is after the bloodletting is done, we'll see which of the privacy coins comes out still standing, and well I already know its gonna be XMR. All this talk about ZEC is performative and it was disappointing to see a lot of big bitcoin maxi twitter accounts shilling ZEC.. some even went as far as to take dumps on XMR for being "underfunded" (aka lacking VC funding). In any case, true utility coins that do what they advertise are hard to pump, which is why the XMR pump wasn't as big as ZEC's. That's something I've learned over the last decade.

Okay, I apologize for saying anything positive about the Matero price. Hopefully Matero is listening and will stop being mad at me.
