Why so sure? Smiley

I'll be more sure when the trolls arrive. That's usually when the countdown begins.

But the dip now is different then all the others I think. The mothership is going down.

How do you mean?

Did bitcoin go down this much all the times xmr went down last year ?

No, it did not.

But it has done this before, maybe you're right, but I think crypto will survive this...

Let’s hope so. Its I risk I am willing to take Smiley. It would be nice to hear aminorix his opinion , or smooth or fluffy pony:)

It's done it before and will do it again, hold onto your panties ladies, now is not the time to panic, just imagine if you had sold a chunk near the top you would be feeling pretty good now.

The fundamentals have not changed.

All Fluffyponza would tell you is to not invest in monero.

maybe.. lets see
Bitcoin, if we perceive it as an asset, has performed better than almost any other in the past 5 years. However, we can not foresee with certainty that the price will continue to rise.

We are near the ATH in bitcoin terms. Not too worried here. We just need that to recover somehow.

When eventually Monero is truly useful it will release itself from its BTC ratio, and climb (I believe).

Its happening gradually but for now we are well positioned as the good partner for BTC.

do you guys think that BTCP (co-fork of ZCL and BTC) could have any impact on Monero? By impact I mean BTC holders that want to invest in a privacy coin could potentially prefer BTCP to Monero due to its name

Come back with some details.  How much premine? how much dev/marketing etc tax?  what emission curve?  Rich list? default privacy or opt-in? how large/active development team? How many actual full time cryptographers employed?  What company is backing it?  People 'investing' in it because of its name have little money, or soon will.  Looks like yet another (#30?) cash grab bitcoin fork, but I couldn't be bothered to waste my time looking it up.  Impact on Monero?  a small boost once a small percentage salvage a small part of their 'investment' and move it to Monero.  The con-men running the show will likely put profits to Monero also before they abandon their fork salad.

Add:

Since I tripped over it, I'll share this tidbit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/7ud8bl/what_do_you_think_about_bitcoin_private/

So it's a fork of a scamcoin that the dev put a backdoor in and dumped by creating coins out of thin air! LMFAO I can't believe some retard would fork that shit! And whats worse is some retards are gonna buy it and get dumped on.

$243 and falling. Anyone scared yet?

I tried to get some usd on coinbase as it's the only portal I have right now but it's impossible now without doing the KYC shit. I'm probably the only one wishing for it to fall so I can get some. Smiley

I'll be more sure when the trolls arrive. That's usually when the countdown begins.

That’s true, I have seen that many times last 2 years. But the dip now is different then all the others I think. The mothership is going down. This could have a huge impact on all crypto future.

This is not unexpected at all, alot of use were calling this last month and a few of us were calling it back in Nov, have you not been listening or only listening to the posts that you want to hear?

Of course it will, there is no doubt of this. The grey area is where the new floor will be and what alt will end up holding onto the highest gains. I bet you know which one I'm picking. Smiley

We have been through far darker days than this.  Those who are here from way back are still here because they believed in the tech and knew the market was irrational, not Monero.

Monero has seen all kinds of stuff thrown at it, but is a fine, honest and tough coin.

Most here have held no matter what and if it seems we are optimistic, it's just because we know Monero. In the end always wins and is: totally respected, has wonderful tech, a huge real use-case and is fundamentally (due to the great devs and their hard work) anti-fragile.

Privacy is the ultimate feature for your money. This is what Monero offers.

How do multisig xmr txs work? Do the people in the escrow know each others amounts being paid for a multisig spend? Ie a->b->c is there a way to not have c know how much a is getting or even who a is?

It works a lot like a shamir secret sharing scheme. Here you go watch this https://youtu.be/FRdGe9kNBRI?t=20m48s

Yes, PinkDate recommends to use monero over bitcoin for any investor who wants privacy.

PinkDate will host the first Invite-Only launch party in Toronto, Feb 28, 2018
100 escorts in attendance with invites limited to 200 men.
It's going to be an epic party, with the idea to explain how PinkDate platform works.
Our President, Sarah Stevens who is a former escort herself, just returned from Florida, London UK, and Amsterdam. Next up are San Francisco then the huge Anarchapulco Crypto Conference in Mexico.
In every locale, she attends or speaks at a crypto event, and, checks out the local escort scene. She reports that in every city, even Amsterdam where everything is legal, it is really difficult to set up appointments.

PinkDate will really make a big difference.
And, clients will love it because PinkDate will verify them once, and from then on they can use the platform without having to submit their personal ID and info to a girl they never met.
https://pinkdate.is
Pre-ICO sale ending very soon.

Folks, I believe Monero but I also believe Assian markets are the most significant markets for Monero...

Are these assian markets same thing as the escort market, ala, Pinkdate?  Cheesy

Sorry can't buy into a Pre-ICO, I just don't trust them unless I had to pre reserve a spot in the Pre-Ico before the plebs get to buy in.

Anyway...

I have ascended.

I no longer fear the market. I have reached the point. I'd rather suck a dick than sell. Ergo, I don't give af anymore.

I think the trolls have ascended to business news networks--they seem to cry "Blood in the streets!" every time Bitcoin goes down 15%. Of course they package it as "Lost 100s of Billions in value!" I don't know if I've ascended, but I'm at the shrug stage. Probably dealing with the personalized experince of a BCT troll has made me immune to mass-market FUD.

what do you think about cake wallet?

they release the source for Cake Wallet for Monero for iOS under the terms of the MIT open source license. This is the first truly open source Monero wallet for iOS.

The code uploaded to GitHub has NOT been submitted to Apple yet as we are still testing. I ask the community to test and suggest/submit improvements as well. We will probably submit to Apple by end of the day today.

Lack of trolls here is not a good sign, nope - but right now it's all about the mothership. BTC needs to find its bottom (and preferably fast!).

We were holding well against BTC (but of course losing in fiat terms) today it looks like we aren't such a particularly special case and we are losing ground against BTC too.   I am hoping this means we are approaching the point of the bottom for BTC and thus, the whole market.

I think alts will be drained further as BTC looks closer to the bottom, because people simply will want to buy BTC at its low, rather than hold any alt.

One last capitulation and blood on the streets will sort it, then we can find a new base.  Alts will slingshot up once BTC does - but faster.   Of course this is a shakeout for the weakest alts.  I expect Monero to do better than most, simply as it has quality and a damn good use case.
