I can't even remember anymore, why doesn't Benefactor trade DVC directly?

I can't even remember anymore, why doesn't Benefactor trade DVC directly? The NXT wallet can be, shall we say, challenging to set up and/or to update after not opening it for a while. For example, it has taken me three days to get mine up to speed and I endured system slow-downs for the duration. That said, it's a wonderful interface and they've implemented their ideas beautifully. With further development for software efficiency and elegance behind the scenes, I'm confident this platform will only get better. For now, yes, it can be a bit of a pain (or for some, a lot of a pain), but leaving it overnight to work its update magic seems to do the job. I don't think Benefactor made it through the trial of installation and updating, but with a little perseverance it can be done!

the next wallet is a bit of a ballache but hardly enough to warrant not using it.
im doubtful thats the real reason, more likely something to do with 'standing out'
I can completely understand that this was the real reason. I just went through three days of grief with this thing. I'm an IT professional with considerable skill and I find it to be frustrating. I can certainly understand non-IT (or even people with 'home IT') levels of capability being put off by this wallet's little niggles. It's getting better all the time though and I'm optimistic about its future. But for now, some computers are affected by slow-downs and lag, which I attribute partly to having stable and decent internet connectivity (mine is poor) and partly to possible system services or resource versions that may conflict or otherwise interfere with the NXT wallet's smooth operation. Seriously, not everyone is affected by the various minor issues, but if you'd had the three days I just had with it, you'd really want to be a believer to stick it out. I am, and I did. I can understand why some others have not. I will continue to get better, I believe.

Welcome, ominous.shark! Have you been interested in UNO for a while? It's been a helluva ride this past year. Glad you found us. Have a read of the first post in this thread and also you can find the Trade Tracker in its current form (Google Sheets document) in my signature. There's an 'About' tab on the spreadsheet that has a bunch of FAQs that might be useful, too. We're working toward a more structured interface but this is how we're rolling for now Feel free to ask questions and to get involved. Again, welcome! Craig (Australia)

@ Benefactor's Nxt wallet: I take responsibility. Perhaps he didn't get enough tech-support while wrasslin' with it. In a coupla months, I will gently broach the subject again. (His wallet is live, and contains Nxt.)
Meanwhile, I will be his Bursar 'cause his contribution here has been constant.
@ Ominous Shark! Welcome!
@ Theory: is it time to start trading DVC in Bitcoin? Anti-bloat. More precious Uno in our wallets. Experience with the 'intra-community' (non-Uno) 'instruments' that are comin' your way in the next two or three years.

That's actually great to hear. I think most people probably don't have the dramas I've had with the wallet. Benefactor and I may have some incompatible software or system resource that affects the whole thing.. I dunno. Whatever the case, it's great this wallet is in active development because we can hook into it to support our DVC project! Sweeet

Woo hoo! Coinmaster is in the home stretch to DVC Verification. He needs help posting his Verification pics -- got Net troubles from bad weather. (Something I sympathise with!) I will help him.
I have asked him to jump through a few hoops -- we are now moving to the Verification of Uno folk who weren't among the founding group.
I've asked for a couple more completed trades, and that s/he read the relevant texts on Indiamikezulu.com.au
And -- a security issue -- I have provided C222 wth a 'time stamp' detail, which he must provide (as per our very recent upgrades to Verification protocol.) In order to objectivise the process, I will this very second forward the same detail to Guy and Bitcoin Charlie.
Go, DVC!

Me gonna answer some questions from a guy from 'Coinwarp.' Found myself explaining the ideas we're implementing here, for example, that a community with an inherently low-transaction instrument of exchange would use a 'suite' of 'instruments' and currencies in their activities -- at least if that community had a very strong trust-network to underpin the projects.
And ya know what? It makes perfect sense!
