Is it true that people can use BTC to purchase things on the Blockmarket, and that Syscoin is only needed for fees etc? If so, this is very good. Need to be able to use BTC until the altcoin is much more established, or else nobody will ever use the markets to begin with.

Yes you will be able to use any currency to purchase things from people who set up blockmarkets using the plugins for ecommerce.. however the merchant wont be able to track payments on the blockchain if user does not pay with SYS.. thus they may add incentive (discounts) so that you would want to pay with sys so merchant can take advantage of all of the cost saving benefits of using the blockchain. The only difference is that the MySQL database holds a central storage of payments like we have with currenct websites. Value add of tracking payments is to be able to set up multiple blockmarkets perhaps with different ecommerce packages and all of them would track each other, from the front -end to backend payment tracking.. so perhaps sell the same things just on different websites. Im sure there are other benefits of tracking payments such as backing up and restoring without losing payment statuses.

VOTE FOR

Vote for Syscoin to be added at Coinomat.com https://coinomat.com/coinvoting.php
Coinomat.com offers bank transfers, withdrawals to Visa/Master cards, and custom debit cards for all the cryptocurrencies on its platform.
On top of that, instant exchanges to all supported cryptocurrencies and e-currencies are available.

Coinomat.com pioneered instant crypto to crypto exchange in 2013 and now also offers various crypto to fiat solutions to provide additional liquidity for supported cryptocurrencies. Coinomat was the first project to offer this and it will always remain our top priority.

Normally, to withdraw to a bank account you need someone to send you the funds from their local bank, so it can be a problem if there aren't many local exchanges happening. Traditionally, transfer costs are a hassle, can cost up to 3% of the amount and take 2-3 business days.

With Coinomat you can easily send funds to any Visa or Master card in the world instantly, with no wait time.

Various fiat exchange features:

- Instant exchanges to all other cryptos on our platform.

- Withdrawal to any Visa or Master card issued by any bank in the world.

*This is a great way to provide your coin with liquidity, especially for users who live in the countries with less crypto exposure.

Crypto purchasing and selling with bank transfer

If you need to buy altcoins with bank transfers it can be a real problem and there arn't a lot of providers out there. We enable our users to load their Coinomat account with a bank transfer and buy any coin we support. To mitigate volatility effects, first the account is credited and only after that, a user can purchase the crypto of his choice.
Transfers from most countries are accepted (except for US)

Withdrawal to a custom bank card

We offer custom debit cards which can be loaded with cryptocurrency and work in ATM's all over the world. Card costs $40 and are delivered within a week after successful order (users need to provide Personal ID and Proof of residence). The card is not tied to a personal bank account and works more like stored value card. After the card is delivered, a user is able to load it from their Coinomat account.

Offering these services, we cover basically all major ways to buy and sell your crypto. Liquidity is what the cryptocurrency scene is lacking at the moment, and providing more fiat liquidity can be a great popularity booster for Bitshares.

Head over to our voting page and get things started!

Team Call 21 Meeting Notes

Now live! We're posting the notes to the blog as we move forward as it has better reach v. posting in Slack- lots of items coming in June. Looks like mobile wallets will be live by next weekend as testing is in its final phases for both iOS and Android. We have plans on integrating the mobile wallets with blockmarket (via QR code) as well for purchasing from the palm of your hand / on the go (after 1.5.3 is released to mainnet).

We're going to be resetting the cakenet to test Syscoin 1.5.2 b5 tomorrow evening, if you don't see any cakenet nodes at the moment that is why. We'll post in more detail when we reset the cakenet tomorrow evening, this item is included in the team call meeting notes.

Silk Road operator Ross Ulbricht sentenced to life in prison

The hunt for decentralized markets has begun, it is time for a change.

Wait so you promote it as a coin to use to sell drugs , fake ids , pedophilia , guns , explosives , etc , etc , etc...

Ross Ulbricht may have wanted a free market but when you have a free market you also have a lot of weirdos with more freedom....

Actually, silk road did not allow pedophilia , guns, explosives , hitmans...

Sure i'm promoting SYScoin and blockmarket, thats what this project was all about in the first place..

Decentralized markets are inevitable, open bazaar / blockmarket / one market / shadowmarket and more..   so sit tight, relax and let the magic happen.

We in no way promote Syscoin as a way to sell drugs, fake ids, pedophilia, explosives or anything else illegal. Our target market is businesses that want to do business without a centralized middle man and has been since from the start. Hence our motto "Business on the blockchain"

Silk Road operator Ross Ulbricht sentenced to life in prison

The hunt for decentralized markets has begun, it is time for a change.

Quote
Products[edit]
In March 2013, the site had 10,000 products for sale by vendors, 70% of which were drugs.[19][57] In October 2014, there were 13,756 listings for drugs, grouped under the headings stimulants, psychedelics, prescription, precursors, other, opioids, ecstasy, dissociatives, cannabis and steroids/PEDs.[8][17][58][59] Fake driver's licenses were also offered for sale.[60] The site's terms of service prohibited the sale of certain items.[17] This included child pornography, stolen credit cards, assassinations, and weapons of any type; other darknet markets such as Black Market Reloaded gained user notoriety because they were not as restrictive on these items as the Silk Road incarnations were.[57][61] There were also legal goods and services for sale, such as apparel, art, books, cigarettes, erotica, jewellery, and writing services. A sister site, called "The Armory", sold weapons (primarily guns) during 2012, but was shut down due to a lack of demand.[62][63]

Buyers were able to leave reviews of sellers' products on the site, and in an associated forum where crowdsourcing provided information about the best sellers and worst scammers.[64]

Alright...  Roll Eyes

We are not looking for Silk road like people to use our marketplace, we believe in the decentralized marketplace model; Syscoin is to Ebay/Amazon/etc as Bitcoin is to currency. The quote you posted is about silk road which has absolutely nothing to do with us and Mishax1 is not on the Syscoin team.

I don't see any point in stating that,

it's not that have any control over a decentralized market..   right? Roll Eyes

That's correct, he was just saying that we were promoting this which is completely not the case. I meant no offence to you stating that, just wanted to clarify that we were not stating that. Anyone can use Fiat, Bitcoin or a decentralized marketplace for their nefarious dealings, we just simply do not promote, condone or facilitate that and anyway, there's much more money in real businesses than there is in crime.

Not only will i2p and tor slow things down, we know that tor is not fully annon, and who knows if i2p really is or someone will break it aswell... they slow the network down for a 1% share of the global ecommerce market... not great risk reward. If one day anon grows to a bigger market stake then it will be easy to add the latest greatest anon technology which im sure will exist in a bitcoin clone at the time.
