Can it be made 100% clear if we will definitely have Android from day one of the distribution or not? I'm reading different things in different places.

woh woh woh woh woh woh woh.......i thought GEMS was free? No? i do remember seeing and reading a few places, saying that its free. of course i don't expect the pre-sale part or the crowd sale part to be free. but will i be able to get it for free at some point in the future?
Just to get this straighten out: 1] this "pre-sale" or "early bird" phase, which begins on 15th or 18th nov 2014, only a small group of people will be invited and they are the early supporters and subscribers of Koinify and Gems newsletter. so its free for them right? since they were invited. or...invited to buy GEMS? correct me if i am wrong. just want to get to the bottom of this.
2] Then on 1st Dec 2014, Public Sale begins. from the name of it, people will have to buy GEMS. right?
3] After public sale, can people still get GEMS? and is it free or only through invite?
someone explain to me like im 6 year old. thanks. appreciate much

50 % of gems is sold in the crowdsale, This gives a chance for investors to have a descent stake in the application whilst bootstrapping Gems When Gems is launched, users will be able to obtain gems for free, such as by air drops, inviting freinds etc.

Good job, pretty informational on what gems is, being present on talkshows builds more trust and transparency, especially on lets talk bitcoin which gives people the idea that gems is pretty well received by bitcoin aswell.

+1. I don't understand why you are allowing this kind of stuff? The launch should be fair and all the people should get equal opportunity. Why are you opening the early bird sale to few people? This seems to me like backdoor hoarding by a few people. How will we know that they are sending invitations to early supporters or their friends? I have been an early supporter of Gems and have been waiting from the last two months for this sale, I have also subscribed both the newsletters but haven't got any invitation for the early bird until now.

Let's say...i am not one of those who are invited. so let's forget this. on 1st Dec 2014, Public Sale begins. can i go to GooglePlay, search for GEMS and get the app for free? that's what i want to know.

Is there any advantages for the early bird phase?

clarifications: - 18th Nov 2014, early bird phase begins. - (Cyber) Monday, December 1st at 9:00AM PST the public sale begins. - invitations have not been sent yet. - early bird phase and the first 48H of the public sell have the same terms - everyone gets an equal opportunity to buy at the early birds rate of 17,250 XGEM per BTC. - the Gems app will be free to download.

Android at launch?
No. Our mobile apps are completely native. We develop for each platform (iOS/Android) separately and that's in order to reach vey highest quality possible. Cross platform solutions like phonegap or appcelerator are cheaper to make but result in lower quality apps. Our iOS app is written in Objective C and our Android app will be written in Java. If you compare the underlying technology for other serious apps like WhatsApp or Facebook, you will see the same implementation choice. We need the presale funds to be able to develop and support both platforms. To keep things "fair" we can start the airdrop compensation model only when both iOS and Android apps are ready.

Even though this makes a lot of people grumpy, I think native app-support is absolutely critical. GEMS made the right choice

I don't mind at all Android no being available at launch but yeah I hope you can wait for the Android for the airdrops. You say CAN so I read that as not 100% decided. Please keep us informed of this and if it changes. What time scale are you thinking/hoping for the Android app to be done? There is an issue of fairness but also there is an issue of not waiting too long so it would be good if we know the time scale and maybe the community that develops can have a say.

Interesting looking project, good luck!
Regarding the pre-sale, how could I get involved? I would also like to discuss perhaps making a line of physical GEMS as collectables. Give me a shout please peled1986.

I'm 100% certain that GEMS will do better on the Android platform, but to start out on the iOS platform is brilliant because it makes iOS users feel special.

Don't forget even if you have iOS your friends just as likely wont. Not having Android basically blocks various parts of the world from participating especially Asia which is 90% or more in countries like China. We got to wait for Android I think.

Do you guys have any plans to be part of Crypto or technology meetings? I think this is a very important aspect to promote your brand, especially in Gems case which is bringing something new to the table it should be part of these events and conferences. If you look at all these successful brands like Whatsapp, they have been present in these tech conventions. So my question is if you are considering to be part of such meetings?
I listened to lets talk bitcoin interview, so that a good start.
