This has nothing to do with anyone not being clear on their purpose. Links in the OP are fine. I'm giving general advice not to download wallets compiled by third parties. Anything the LTCD team releases will be signed and verified by us. If it doesn't come from us, we can't control what's in it.

i am getting an error with my wallet it says, Warning: error reading wallet.dat! All keys read correctly but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect. then it wallet closes. could use a little help.

Well I managed to buy about 100k from coin-swap with no issues at all... Still would rather have a bigger exchange with which to buy them!!
On a side note... I hope you guys like the work we have done on the Reddit site so far... Should start to see higher traffic in the days ahead!
Still looking for someone who can do up a nice style sheet but we managed to get all the proper links in and I used a graphic from this site as the header... Looks pretty good I think~

My coins were stolen from my wallet somehow. i sent them from the pool a couple of hours ago and they were there. Now they are gone. I don't know if there is a virus in the wallet or something. I did not have that many only a couple of thousand but it was all I had.

My coins are safe, I am going to leave them on an exchange for now I think until more is known.
edit: to clarify, my coins were sitting in my wallet but I moved them to the exchange when I read this.

for every new coin never forget to set rpcuser=xxxx rpcpassword=xxxx rpcallowip=127.0.0.1in conf file And always use antivirus software. |

I always use AV software, machine is firewalled. Clearly it's my mistake for not encrypting wallet, I've learned from that.
I'm interested to know how it happened though

Unfortunately there is not an anti virus program that provides 100% protection. Any computer connected to the Internet is vulnerable. |
