It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I am not sure if this has been brought up before, but the pool I'm mining in says the difficulty will adjust in one block but it never does. Right now the average block time is running around 10 minutes rather than the 1 minute block time that was stated in the specs. I read that difficulty is supposed to retarget every five hours but I'm not sure it's even doing that. Hashing power has fluctuated a lot so that may have something to do with it. Or maybe it's a bug?

It's just that for a miner, it's really tough to get an accurate picture of mining profitability when the actual block time is so far off the stated block time. Is this one of the issues that is being addressed?

Thanks.

I believe they are aware of it and looking into it . On the plus side though it slows down the coins coming out so less coins being paid to the big miners. Iam at the best pool and diff is high also there.
I mining there to and because no blocks are being solved I cannot cash out because nothing is getting confirmed. Stopped mining at 8 this mornong and still no payout since last night.

iam making coins but they wont get paid out for 120 confirms I think that's my understanding but I could be wrong lol  and blocks are like 15 to 27 minutes  average  so yeah will take time to get them but it will all catch up. Thats just my opinion though lol
I understand that and I am not worried about the pool but something seems strange that there has only been a 100 blocks in the last 24 hours. plus difficulty has not changed since then as well.

Between you and me, I'd say the coin is being heavily bought. As in, 3-5 people controlling 50% of the whole. We all know what that means.

Has anyone looked at the madness on Cryptsy when they opened the LTCD/BTC pair? People paying 3300 for a single coin!

I work with X3n0X who made the block explorer. Before releasing we checked into some strange behavior with the original premine addresses, and once we figured it out had the dev move the premined coins to new addresses so balances posted correctly. Then the dev made the new address public for everyone to be able to watch them. Sure, he has the capability to do whatever he wants with them, but has gone the extra steps to make the premine as transparent as possible for the livelihood of the coin. I don't think there is anything to worry about. However if you are just trying to spread FUD to decrease the value for whatever reason you may have, by all means go for it. There is a great community behind this coin already and they won't listen  Wink

I've almost finished getting my local repository cleaned and sorted out.  Will update and push to github as soon as that happens.  That will give me something much cleaner to work with in the future.

Price is looking good and the support is interesting for a coin that went up more than 200% in value.

3D Printing and Bitcoin, that's pretty cool.
