I think S9 is coming. If there is no sales of the S9 now, nobody will buy it after the halving, the profit is too low.

Would love to see Bitmain spitting out Scrypt based ASIC's as well.

Just what I said.

Most of the ASIC manufacturing is concentrated around supplying and improving SHA256 hardware, making difficulty relative rise at an insane speed, and thus making current equipment becoming obsolete quite fast in the process. You're practically 'forced' to renew your equipment like 1 or 2 times a year, if you like mining and want to keep up.

I believe there is (still) a good market in Scrypt ASIC's. If there were some legit cloud company be doing the same with Scrypt based ASIC's like Hashnest is doing with their Antminers, in my opinion, that would be an awesome opportunity; especially, if one could point their hosted hashes towards a pool or coin they desired.

Got it

The problem is - there no any commercially viable Script ASICs on the market. So I dont think we can expect that BTM will be a pleasant exemption

$575 is our next barrier

With $600 we will pass halving easily

But I want to have at least 20-30THs with S9

i will pick some up right when it comes out as well,  im banking on people that cant afford full machines willing to pay a premium.  either by it first or wait a couple weeks to let the hype price die down.   i dont no when its coming out tho it might take a while, they still need to ship the  s7 LN  next week. and also they usually make announcement to when new machines come out, they dont give it to us right away.

Yeah, the last 'big hole' was filled by KNCminer, with their Titans. Their latest batches were crappy to say the least, and now they filed for bankruptcy too, there could be a nice entry for companies willing to take the risk.
Jumping in on the Scrypt market back then with them Titans, from a corporate financial point of view, sure didn't do them any harm  Wink

cryptomining-blog.com reviews from time to time some script ACISs

Looks like garage invention of genius from Guangzhou (if you understand what I mean)

I recently made my first "rig" with 2x R9 390 - to play with ETH mining, so let's see

Dont think any of the large manufacturers will go into scrypt since the market s not big enough. There s LTC, which is big time shaky after Ether, Factom and the gang entered the market and started challenging it for number 2 position. Who would invest millions into development of an Asic which can mine 1 single coin with potentially failing market cap?

I m more interested in the next Pacmic. The next cloud miner, having in mind this diff growth is not so spectacular per se but I always welcome innovations.

S9 hash power is the next big thing everyone here is waiting for. Bitmain still keeping us in suspense. Cock teaser. Haha

I m more interested in the next Pacmic. The next cloud miner, having in mind this diff growth is not so spectacular per se but I always welcome innovations.

Not so spectacular?

If the pre-specs of 14 TH/s are anywhere close, than the S9 for sure is a game changer. Not to mention the SP50 from Spondoolies with a 110 Th/s (!), or the next 14 nm chip from BW.com...

Jessica,

Hopefully BTC will climb to $750 before halving - so even S7 can be profitable for a while
