Is there anyway to control how much SLR is being staked in my wallet? It seems only a fraction of my available coins are being staked at any given moment. Is this random?
It's normal. Thanks, I figured it was. My limited mind is just trying to understand this PoS system. The amount labeled Spendable equals the sum of Staking plus Reserved coins (you can reserve a non-staking amount under Setting->Options->Main->Reserve); The amount labeled Staking actually represents the coins that have staked and are NOT currently staking. Here is a discussion back from October, there was a suggestion to modify the UI of the Overview panel to have some more detail and more informative labels: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=785257.msg12559814#msg12559814Here is the specific suggestion, hopefully this small UI change will make it into a next wallet release soon: "Spendable" = staking + reserve "- out of them Staking" = staking "- out of them Reserve" = reserve "Staked" = staked (that is "Staking" right now) "Immature" = immature interest "Unconfirmed" = unconfirmed "Total" = "Spendable" + "Staked" + "Immature" + "Unconfirmed"

Came across this article about Perovskites that I thought i'd share. The future is bright, the future is solar.!! https://www.theguardian.com/sustainable-business/2015/dec/18/game-changing-perovskite-solar-tech-could-be-cheaper-and-more-efficient“When you start to do the bill of materials analysis, you start to work out that the contacts are just a couple of dollars per square metre in terms of active material costs, which is spectacularly low. So, the panel costs half or less compared to traditional panels.” Perovskites can also be chemically fine–tuned to change colour and transparency, and they can also be manufactured directly onto other structures, making them attractive for those wanting to integrate solar PV into buildings. For example, solar panels could be placed directly onto glass facades and roller-coated materials, like roofing steel, at the point of manufacture. This could potentially mean greater uptake in solar on large commercial structures, like warehouses. They could also be potentially integrated into energy harvesting and storage systems for household generators. “Most [solar panels] have to be fitted onto buildings after the fact, which incur extra costs in materials and labour”, Milliken says. “Perovskites therefore have an extra arrow in the quiver for future expansion opportunities and for achieving things like zero net energy buildings, which will require something like this technology to be integrated into building envelopes. Yes, it's good news and something that we are factoring into our ElectriCChain predictions. Basically most glass surfaces that won't be shaded or indoors in the future will be powering something, and, it will be a complex basket of SBIoT (Solar Blockchain IoT). Perovskites added to the traditional p-n junction have passivation qualities on traditional Silicon cell interfaces as well, improving current production technology's output efficiency. In addition, the Perovskite cells do stand alone on their own right. They have been around in the industry for over 20+years and organic cells and Perovskite cells have always had visual light and UV-light stability problems. But, this is improving. I am interested in these, but we won't see a lot of these offshoot technologies in large scale production for 3 to 5+ years out, and some, if ever. But others may evolve separately. Cheers, lfloorwalker

All I know is if it wasnt for this crazy dude I would not be selling and buying back cheaper on every big rise/drop. Solarcoin has treated me well and I wont hesitate buy buy more if this downtrend continues. As to the wallet staking over 1 Million Solarcoins. Its about time. I dont think this person will dump. I mean why would he? He has a money making machine

Thanks for the info if you look way back he would transfer around 200k then recieve around 200k back later on.
Good news is we are half way of getting rid of him. Unless he decides to buy back and repeat. He dumped 100k just yesterday/today alone.

Hey guys im trying to increase the number of active Solarcoin nodes. A was able to convince a few friends of mine to buy some SLR. I Decided to buy them a intel pc Stick like the one I have as a present. https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Compute-Computer-processor-BOXSTK1AW32SC/dp/B01AZC4NHS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472144217&sr=8-1&keywords=intel+pc+stickNow I don't have that much cash to spend right now so i'm going to start by buying two for the two friends of mine that are holding the most Solarcoins so they can finally start staking properly (in a way where they make more than they spend on power costs) I'm posting here because I was hoping maybe a few of you might want to help and donate a few dollars. It's for a good cause and I can send you pictures of the nodes once setup Anyway if you want to help out you can send me BTC here: 13pyPZkh93CepoGmV6GhAtJ9qySFYopq7o I'm asking for BTC because I don't want to have to sell/dump Solarcoins on the market Thx

I don't mean to sound over confident, but SLR has had its ups and downs. It was at one time valued at 300 Satoshi's. With everything going on behind the scenes I am foreseeing a great future, not only for investors, but for many segments of blockchain technology and society. Many intelligent and hardworking people are seeing the potential and are working hard to create something around Solarcoin. Real world applications which take time to blossom.

At the same time this guy is just super greedy he will obviously try to buy back at a profit. The question is who will be selling their coins. you must have seen the 250k and 450k buy orders around 0.00001000 - 0.00002000. But in all honesty I just don't think anyone is going to sell him that amount of coins at that price. It's ridiculous. Like I said earlier I won't be selling and I have a good feeling about most of the SLR holders/community. But hey if it does reach those really low prices I wont hesitate to invest some more Edit: He is probably the only one with that amount of coins that would be willing to sell haha Edit 2: 38 BTC of buy support right now

That is why distribution needs to happen. The large holders must sell off. Then there is median price point that won't go down anymore. If all of this PoW coin hangs out there waiting to pounce on people buying in, the price may stagnate. This is your network metric at work too. SolarCoin has such a monumental market that the PoW coin can erode simultaneously while claimers try to get their due also. Too bad it never took off like XMR maybe the PoW holders could pump XMR style!

Too bad it never took off like XMR maybe the PoW holders could pump XMR style! Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I think the seller has every intention to get every single coin back + more. And yes XMR got pumped like crazy :p But nothing new here. These pumps and dumps come and go. I would not touch Monero where it is now..I sold the few I had yesterday and I'm getting more SLR with that ! You see 6 months ago it was interesting to see anything over 5 BTC support on the buy side. Now all of a sudden we have 250 000$ in BTC just chilling on the buy side... That tells me everything It's really starting to become serious (I remember there being like 1500$ buy support) and I think it wont be long until we get added on other exchanges.
