Warren Buffett — 'Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful'
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Any more news on this? I have an old wallet curious when we can do the swap to the new? After reading the post two weeks ago it said this was all happening on Nov. 15th. But anything I try to click or go to seems to send me in a loop.... Between bitcointalk, the solarcoin webside then coinmarket cap can't find the correct place to swap, new wallet or any exchange?

Sorry if I sound confused but it is confusing.

You can already migrate to the new ethereum solarcoin:
https://medium.com/solarcoin/migrating-to-ethereum-based-solarcoin-the-technical-guide-ad2de4dba152

At block 3932000, they will take a snapshot and populate the new blockchain.
While I'm typing this we are at block 3931412, so I guess within a few days?

At that point, staking on the old (and new) chain stops.

Says who?
Is this a swap?

Whoops, I was wrong.

Am I still able to stake on the new SolarCoin blockchain?
No. The new SolarCoin chain is a proof-of-authority mechanism and does not allow for staking. Proof-of-authority is low-carbon, similar to SolarCoin Classic’s PoST consensus algorithm.
