Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

You need to backup all your keys etc for solarcoin then uninstall old wallet and the solarcoin roaming files. then install the new solarcoin wallet and import your provate keys and it will work. just make sure you backup your old wallet first or coins will be lost.

Happy new year! community!

SolarCoin is the crypto currency for future generation.
It will gain more and more attention as spread of Solar Energy.
I'm strongly believe that SLR will hit 10K sat again within following months.

when you say back up your keys, do you mean just back up the wallet. I have backed up the wallet, made a copy of the roaming dir, made a copy of the program dir and will now uninstall if this is correct. Once the new wallet is installed on the PC where will i import the keys from, I think I am missing this part of the process.

thank you guys for the help this issue is resolved and my coin is in my new wallet, who would have thought this was going to end up here pretty awesome. SLR was just something I originally pointed one rig at back when it came out ( I think it was brought to my attention from a guy called Rose back then) and was mining like 260 coins a day. I have not touched any crypto sense 2014 so its been exciting getting all my wallets updated and trying to figure out what to do with everything. I think I will hold SLR for some more time though as it seems to be pretty active path. Again thank you for the help.

i have got the latest wallet from them and it is installed on my newer computer, is there an upgrade or something i should run on the old wallet? should I have run the new wallet on the old computer that is running the 1.0.1?

The wallet software should be updated on both pc's. The old wallet software will not connect to the network. Make sure you have a backup of your wallet.dat file, and or a backup of your private keys somewhere before any updates.

The old wallet has just been fired up yesterday after sitting in a closet turned off for almost 4 years, it syas out of sync on the wallet and the transactions. I did back it up, I also tried letting it recreate the BC folder except the wallet.dat but that just moved my coin to unconfirmed and still no connection. I moved the files back and no issue there. I tried to add some old nodes I found but that didn't help any. I tried to send my coin to the new wallet but that didnt work either its just sitting in the send. Not sure what to do from here?

That old wallet won't work anymore. You need to download the new wallet. Make sure and backup your Wallet.dat copy it to another location. There is functionality in the wallet that will list you as a bad peer and not allow you on the network with the old wallet. The new wallet has a bootstrap and update button it is Automatic!

SolarCoin is a coin to support solar energy generation, if you produce solar energy you may claim SLR for free.

So there is no competition between Power Ledger and SolarCoin.

There is no fundamental reason (I can think of) a user could not claim SLR, and use POWR or GRID at the same time.
