@ZACHM

is there anyway to get the worker info and in the settings where it says dropped worker have the workers listed with a check box next to them so you can select what ones you want notified if they drop?

say i have rented hash, or one temporarily down on purpose.. the way your site works ill get an email every few minutes for a few days until it drops off the 5N

I'll look into it.
I think I have it set now to only notify for 30 minutes.

Hi Zach,

I'm curious...

Will the 7 day average, 14 day average, 30 day average and 60 day average on "Rewards" be brought back to the monitor?

I'm assuming its away for now because you may be doing some work on it [Maybe cause the math was wrong or something]?

Yes the smaller the payout due to the larger pool size / Hash rate is expected.  No one is questioning that.  The question is why my share hash rate haven't increased in the past almost 3 days.
Look at the Workers->Shift Graph
That shows exactly why.

Those 2 BIG gaps that I've pointed out to you, that are still in the 5Nd, are affecting your payout.
"Not mining" doesn't get paid.
All the other shares do, but the 'missing' ones don't get paid.

If you are not mining before a lucky streak, yep you "don't get paid for not mining" more often because of that.
If you are not mining before a bad luck streak, yep you "don't get paid for not mining" less often because of that.

Hey that's right, didn't get two emails for the double block. Just one. I just happened to poke the pool front end and was freaked out by the second block.
Was more fun that way.

Wow I didn't notice the second block.  ZACHM's monitor only notified me of the first (or at least I only received the first email) so I hadn't checked the site yet.  When I saw the thread and I immediately headed to blocktrail and sure enough.  Go go kano's ckpool Smiley

Yeah, I'm looking into this right now, I'm not sure why we did not get two emails.
At first I thought the blocks were too close together, but they were about 10 minutes apart so that should have been fine.

current block is over 15% diff and no block yet? What the hell, something must be wrong with the pool?

Anyone remember those posts from months ago?

HAHA - 3 a day will be the norm soon vs. exception! Excellent Job Kano, been here since early June and have been trying to promote this pool whenever possible. Now that we are over 9ph, I think the bigger miners will notice and can afford to come over given the decreased variance. I think thats always been the issue with getting large miners here, they could not afford the 5N and high variant, but we are getting there.

I would just rather take miners from Ant and F2, but I guess any is better then none. Some people are just stuck on PPS and will always stay on F2, Ant and Eligius. Amazing how many 500th plus miners stay on those pools and get paid less on PPS then they would here.

Keep up the great work!

Also wanted to add, payout stats from when I first joined on June 16th. Under 1PH and 8.5th got you .22. Back then 5N was 13 days!

I've been including a sheet with Kano.is as the recommend pool on all the miners I sell. No way of knowing if they pointed to Kano, but I hope so.

I'm curious...

"roughly" is dependent upon the changing pool hash rate.

You could probably replace "roughly", currently, with "not a chance in hell of being correct but at least it's better than no information" Smiley

The problem is knowing the "current" starting point for 5Nd, that I've mentioned before being not currently available, and an extra CPU hit on processing every share the pool receives, thus one of the reasons why I've not done it yet.

See the 2nd half of this post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg13438840#msg13438840

--

The 5Nd is shrinking ... not suddenly shorter.

These lines on the Help->Payouts page are the relevant ones:
Quote
The 5Nd means it takes that long to reward your shares.
The ramp isn't missing rewards, it's delaying them to reduce variance.
Each share is rewarded in all the blocks found in the 5Nd after the share.
That's simply how it reduces variance. Each share's reward is averaged out over the 5Nd after it.

--

Now back to your "curiosity" Smiley
So if you have 15TH and mine without turning off your miners you would expect your 15THs to reach "15THs in rewards" after a total of 5Nd shares have been sent to the pool.

Someone who joins the pool after you will have to wait from the point when they join.

How long is "your" 5Nd point after you start?
Well that's the mystery Cheesy
But it will always be less as time goes on (until you reach it) and anyone who starts after you, will of course have more to go than you.

How much time will "your" 5Nd take?
Depends purely on the pool hash rate.

My fastest miner S7 is doing a SHARE RATE of 3.93THs and a HASH RATE of 4.90THs , why does that differ ?

What is what and is that normal ? my slower miners does not have that big difference.

This copy of S7 is overclocked to 750 Mhz, it have no X-ed CPUs in the status box.

I"ve found that my favorite area is the "shift graph" as from what I can tell the area inside the shaded red is what "Your N Avg" is calculated from. So if you have a few times when you stopped mining in that area your average will be lower than 15TH/s assuming that is your max. If you buy some hash power and point it here, say 50TH, that will average in while it remains in the red shaded area. As soon as 5nd passes it will no longer count and you will return back to your normal hashrate... at least this is how I thought it worked.

Beware of scammers.

Share rate is not really accurate, its a real-time number since last network block. Mine varies all the time, look at the 1 hour number.

Yes it have been running for a week, and no connection on the backup pool today.

Edit : Now i check again and the SHARE RATE is 4.72THs now. So i´m not sure... have the pool done a restart last hour ?

Is it a problem with pingtime between sweden and the pool ?

But anyway, what is the difference between hash rate and share rate ?

THANKS for providing the link, PPOC.

"Share Rate" and "«Elapsed" are initialised when the miner first connects.
"Share Rate" and "«Elapsed" reset every network block.

Their aim is to inform you: if you are connecting properly and sending shares properly.

"Share Rate" is the number of shares you have submitted in "«Elapsed" then converted to a hash rate.
The very first second that you connect to the pool, they will report the shares you have submitted since "«Elapsed"
Thus it has high variance, but has the specific use of being able to see the shares you are submitting, immediately.
They are not trying to tell you your accurate hash rate.
They are telling you that you are connected to the pool properly and sending shares properly.

I'm curious, given the pool has increased in size almost 4X over the past couple weeks, does this shift development priorities for "working on thing X" to "working on thing Y"?  Is there more incentive to work on certain aspects of the pool given it's growth, or are development priorities such that they area independent of pool size?  Since I am just a "dust miner" I expect my perspective of what should be done with the pool would be much different than someone running 100+ TH, just wondering if development has a similar experience.

Why is the miner reward less than 25btc?  Is that because the tx fees were less than the pool's share of the reward?
