Um... well, you might want to flash the firmware as a first step.  Go to S4 Firmware to get it from Bitmain.

Also, make sure you don't have that miner exposed to the outside world (i.e. you don't have port forwarding to it).  Change the password for sure.

I've already flashed the latest firmware image, reset many times, and reset the password. However, I have not done all of those things at one time so to start how can I close off port forwarding?

You're configuring kano (or any other) pool in your S4, but it gets overwritten by what's in the screenshot?  You've been hacked.

That's horrible news. What can I do to get past this and back on track?
I'd also suggest you contact not-so-nice-hash immediately and get them to block the address

how are you currently accessing the miner? is it on your local network or remote somewhere?

Whats going on? Pool is down under 7PH and falling  Huh
Actually, if you look at the hash graph each time there is a big drop in hash we hit a block.  Keep leaving, I say, the rest of us will reap the benefits!

Let's hit the Quintuple BlockFriday!

BTC Help, please. Kano sent me from the IRC Node to ask for help in solving this problem.

I have recently switched from another pool to Kano's (kano.is) because I was having this problem and now it is occurring on kano.is. I am registered on the site and have put in the stratum .3333 at kano.is for my configuration. And then of course I click save and apply. However, immediately upon doing so, this screen appears.

Whenever this screen pops up I am immediately disconnected from the pool that I have (in this case kano's) put into my miner's configuration page whereas kano's URL was showing up under my status page's pool URL section. Now this Mr. Nice Hash appears. I have tried resets and reboots, disconnected the power, and shut down my miner altogether. The problem persists. I've got an s4. Please advise. Thank you.

Try this website to see if your router is open to either port 80 or 22 (SSH) http://www.canyouseeme.org/
If it is, you need to get into your modem/router settings and close any port forward that's open.

In the mean time I also suggest disconnecting your internet (cable or dsl line but leave your modem/router switched (if its providing your IP address/wireless). Leave your laptop/pc connected as normal and the antminer. Then reset the antminer and using the default IP, login and first change the password to something else. Now you can setting it up how you want with your IP, pool settings etc.. and see if the problem returns.

EDIT: if the problem still persists after this then there is something dodgy on the miner itself that needs resolving in the software/firmware.  BTW are you getting the firmware from bitmains website?

I've posted in nicehash about it also:

I would open up the S4 and take the SD card out and put it into a PC and format and flash the SD card or use a new SD card.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1204682.msg12647062#msg12647062

Also looking at the image it seems that anybody can get to your S4 with the public IP address.
