Here are some links for fighting financial crime in the UK.

http://www.fca.org.uk/about/what/protecting/financial-crime

http://www.sfo.gov.uk/

https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome

http://www.rics.org/uk/regulation/regulation-uk/guidance-for-regulated-firms/reporting-information/

Can't someone living in the UK just drop them a line and say a large number of people are concerned that there may be a crime happening here and provide them with the information they need to investigate if that's the case because we are talking millions of $ at stake?

The fact that MooPay Ltd are being so evasive about who owns what, taken the Mintpal site offline with a dubious reason given whilst simultaneously liquidating their own company, the large volume of people who had zero balances and zero response on any support for 2 weeks, shouldn't this be enough to at least investigate this before it's too late???

Oh jolly goods news.......the weak exchanges will die and the few strong ones will survive = more security.

Too many exchanges for a small market is akin to having 30 superstores in a village.

Are there any viable decenteralized alternatives? That is what the bitcoin/altcoin space really needs! We need an exchange where trust is not an issue!

I think an exchange where at least you didn't have to store coins on would be good, or the coins only transacted through the exchange at the time of sale like an escrow.

Put it this way: Karpeles got away with stealing 500Million US ... yeah that is half a billion US Dollars!
This people, and i mean Karpelles, cryptorsh, Mintpal .. etc etc, they are all "working" together, and they know very well what they doing( and i mean stealing) there is nothing legal we can do about it, as all this is not even regulated.
We are trading bitcoins, not FIAT, and that is the key for them to get away with stealing.

I am in London, and if you give me an address i will go tomorrow and knock on their door.

Not yet! Last I heard is that NXT is working on it's first decentralized NXT/BTC multigateway. It is already up and running but it is not yet fully decentralized. When finished and decentralized it will also support many altcoins. This is what they claim! I hope they deliver, because honestly after all these exchanges going down, you can't but wonder which one is next!!!

I think this should be a call out to all of the developers in this space. They are spending a lot of their time working on shatcoins that may or may not(probably not) succeed. However, if they were to spend those same resources on the development of a truly decentralized exchange I bet they would see more than a  modest return for their efforts.

I'm being told that 2 of our larger holders have over 300K BlackCoin between them on MintPal

Why?  god knows, we've all seen the shit exchanges cause when they go bang.... so you would have thought people would know better right?

I feel for these guys.

However, we dont know what the outcome of all this is yet so Glass Half Full for now.

Viz

I would ask your large holders if they think it's a bit strange that the same day that Moopay Ltd Directors announce their intention to dissolve the company, they also take Mintpal offline, claiming there is a 'critical bug' and not providing any details.

And also if they feel comfortable that the day they announce dissolution they also claim for the first time that that company does not own Mintpal when up until now they said they did, and in saying this do not say who actually owns it.

Then maybe send them my links above on how to report potential financial crimes

Because once Moopay Ltd is liquidated, if they did own Mintpal, there is zero recourse, they can just say there was an inaccuracy in their blog post and puff it's gone.........

I am in London, and if you give me an address i will go tomorrow and knock on their door.

I don't know their address but I do know it's not hard to find, e.g. you can find out any UK Director's address from Companies House, or from a company credit report.

But the UK has strict financial rules, Mintpal / Moolah are dealing with assets, and if the Directors knowingly steal these assets then I am sure there will be a recourse - they are claiming to provide a service and taking $ to provide that service and assets are transacting right?

EDIT: btw I am not condoning any illegal activity here if that's what you are implying.  What I am saying is that the address on file is just a virtual office, someone mentioned they had an actual office and I would be interested in knowing that address and potentially going there and demanding to know what is happening and also giving it to the authorities.

I am missing over 350 XMR , 30,000 Supercoin and 25,000 CINNIcoin.
I am absolutely supportive of any action taken against these thieves.

My post about this matter:
XMR miraculously unavailable for withdrawal. Price dips below .003 right after mintpal goes down for "v2" implementation... What was v2? Nothing but a cheap, $5 UI. See for yourself. http://themeforest.net/item/proui-responsive-bootstrap-admin-template/full_screen_preview/6769035 (EXAMPLE ONLY) . No answers. Cites daemon failures, etc. but no solutions. Moofarm taking over for moopay? Interesting. It does sound as though they have nothing to do with each other. This entire farce should be heavily scrutinized.

Missing approx:

.2 BTC
225 DRK

Haven't used it since mintpal 1.0.  I transferred my DRK in because I was going on vacation for 2 weeks, expected some movement on DRK and wanted to be able to sell while away.  Today I go to withdraw and site is down.

I have / had 92100 SYS on M2. Embarrassed
Shudder to think how it feels for those who lost high value coins and amounts.
I stick with Poloniex now.
Got dangly bits out of old Cryptorush just in time.
I'm hoping VIA coin with Clearwallet/Clearinghouse will get a decentralised exchange up soon.
Good luck to everyone getting coins back from Mintpal2.
