The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

According to the Genoil Eth thread, new drivers for the Titan fix mining problems on Windows for Pascal Ethereum. Those drivers are specifically pre-released for Titan, which means we'll probably see the changes applied across the board to all other cards with this months release (probably within a week).

You can alter the Titan drivers to work right now with older cards if you know the cards hardware ID and aren't afraid to mess with some .ini's.

yep, but that doesnt make it faster than it was on linux Wink and that remains slow compared to a "small" R9 285... (equivalent or less than a 960 in games)

So going back to our earlier discussion on heatsinks, it looks like Asus is now selling a version of their 1070 with the 970 heatsink (which were pretty good).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126119

However, much like almost all the 1070s this time around, it seems as though they tried to 'bling it up' and by doing so wrecked a good amount of the cooling ability. If you look at the sides and back of that particular heatsink compared to the 970 Strix's, there is not proper exhaust ports for the air to flow out of, hampering airflow, much like with the 1070 Amp Edition cards. Although it doesn't look as bad as the Amps, it definitely looks like they went out of their way to minimize air exhaust from the card.

I have one in the mail right now... Hopefully I'm wrong and it performs just as well as the 970 Strix, but I kinda doubt it. Sorta weird how card manufacturers like bragging about their coolers, then go out of their way to ruin them with excessive amounts of bling because the kids think it looks cool.

The asus Strix OC do very well, in fact better than the evga SC, but i dont know about the cheaper models

Ths strix OC also have 2 PWM fan ports which can be really nice for the side fans of a case

Yeah, I have some of the three fan Asus cards that look like the Gigabyte Gaming. The fans actually seem to be more durable and they have a higher threshold on fan speed (they are capable of running faster). They both seem to run at the same temperature though.

The link is actually to a different 1070, not the 1070 Strix. The 1070 Dual uses the same fan as the 970 Strix's, which is what I was talking about.

They look the same, but they aren't. The 1070 Strix fans are thicker and seem higher quality then the G1 fans. Gigabyte in general has always used shit fans on their cards (they go bad). Pretty certain the G1 isn't a double ball bearing and the Strix is. The 970 Strix is, so I assume the 1070 Dual is also a dual BB.

Well I have no 1070 strix, but 390 strix fan died after 15 days. Like all are using variants of PowerLogic fans... MSI started that with 2xx series...now ( I heard) MSI uses 2bb fans on new cards. Finally they spent 1$ more on fans ( so important for sales )

I have a decent number of 970 Strix's and none of them have went bad, except for one that was catching on the wire shroud and eventually caused the fan to fail. I've also owned some 280x Strix's and those also never went bad, compared to the XFX I owned all of which failed multiple times over their ownership, usually every six months.

If they're using the same fan brand as Gigabyte, they're a different models and definitely higher quality

actually no, still the most profitable, remember that reward is constantly increasing, we have about the same earning as before

the price will recover when the reward will tank to the previous point, still a long way too go

Yeah keep selling everybody, more cheap coins for the rest of us.

Profits are definitely not the same as they were, say a week ago. $/MH has dropped substantially as the difficulty has increased quite a bit and the price/BTC has more then halved.

There are other ways to earn BTC besides mining the most profitable coin. It's pretty close to normalizing with ETH regardless.

PS "Remember that" I was the one who typed exactly what you regurgitated in the Lbry thread over a week ago... That was relevant a week ago.

to normalizing with etheruem? no way it's double of that for the profit ethereum is trash at the moment, even lyra2v2 is better

you forget it then because apparently is still relevant, also there is nothing to "regurgitate", those are common fact, if you think that you were the only one knowing it only because no other has mentioned it, in the past, you are a bit naive...

It's not according to calculators. Not sure how Ethereum is 'trash' considering everything equalizes around it, including Lyra...

970 makes $.2 more per day on Eth then Mona, 1070 makes $.05 more per day on Mona, which isn't nearly as stable as Eth and subject to price drops due to network difficulty jumps.

But then again this is Amph we're talking about... so he can think whatever he wants.
