Arch is by far one of the best "communities" I have been a part of, in fact the only two that I would consider being positive is Arch and Vericoin. Now every group of people invariably has its share of rotten apples but I can say that some of the most intelligent and helpful crypto traders, coders, visionaries, and vagabonds are to be found in Arch HQ along with a wealth (literally) of information. I HIGHLY recommend everyone with the means to do so to at least acquire 8,000 ARCH and join us in the HQ.

There is a wealth of information and knowledge shared in ARCH CEO.  The education alone is worth the investment.

Arch is by far the best investment I have made in crypto. Been in since ICO and I highly suggest buying into a CEO position. Also there are some great traders in slack that are willing to share their TA and opinions. Grin

Warning to all ARCH wallet users, be aware someone is targeting large ARCH wallets and stealing the coins.

I had 32k ARCH stolen from the staking wallet in this transaction.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/arch/block.dws?171607.htm

Looks to me like someone else has lost 40k in this transaction a short time before mine.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/arch/block.dws?171506.htm

The perp now has almost 74k of ARCH coin in the wallet - AUjc5ZUHh666x9mDDJ1pdKiwXgrf9eedq9

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/arch/address.dws?AUjc5ZUHh666x9mDDJ1pdKiwXgrf9eedq9.htm

System was Windows 2012 server. Wallet was staking & not encrypted with password due to staking.

Behind dedicated firewall.

Only other coins taken that I've noticed was about 150 XC coins. Had just updated that wallet about an hour before. Not sure if related.

Server was shutdown immediately after noticing theft.

Other ARCH users reporting similar on Twitter.

Staking can never be mainstream because of security risk. To be safe you need VM,linux.... Too much to know for normal person

I agree. This really made me aware that a staking wallet is fair game for hackers.

They only have to run a wallet to get the Peers IP addresses.

Any security hole,  bug unpatched or 0 Day on the host OS and the staking wallet can be compromised.

Was your wallet encrypted, but unlocked 'for staking only'? Or was it entirely unencrypted?

You do realize you can stake with an encrypted wallet, right? You just need to unlock it.

Entirely unencrypted as had been having to move wallets around due to Seagate HDDs failing left right and centre.

Not sure if other users had their wallets encrypted or not.

Sorry, bro, you've got no one or nothing to blame but yourself if that's the case.

Next time encrypt your wallet. You can still move your wallet.dat from HDD to HDD when it's encrypted.

I'm sorry that you got hacked. Encrypting a wallet should be the first thing to do. It's just plain silly to not encrypt it.
