Decentralized marketplaces is great except nobody is probably going to use yours atleast for a very long long time.
There'll be lots of other options and this idea can be easily replicated. copy XTC!Why do you need a million dollars to launch this?

Why doesn't David Zimbeck implementing all these things into blackhalo?

I don't think anyone likes working for literally free.

If anything he probably has more incentive to develop his services if he's getting paid for it.
I don't see the bad thing with that but I do see the bad thing in asking for a million bucks straight up/top 30 in marketcaps.
Killed all kinda credibility for me similar to when retailers overprice their products leads to no one buying that particular product.

I think they overvalued themselves. I can see 300 or 400 BTC being reasonable at best.
I barely think they will get that as ICOs are pretty much dying out right now.

It's not good to value yourself that high off the bat. It leaves literally no room for the investor to make any gains. So why should they invest in you?
I think not only me but a lot of people are going to be picky about that number. It's just very hard in the current bear market to see any return on something starting at a $1mm market cap.

It's a real problem that a lot of skilled devs who think of new ideas start new coins instead of adding value to existing ones. That way we'll never get anywhere in terms of adoption and critical mass. But solving that problem is hard, holders of an established coin like to sit on their wallets and hope somebody does something instead of funding development.

EDIT: after reading David Zimbeck's comments I'm gonna have to say my post does not apply here - best of luck to the project!

and devs lost credit and investors are gone forever.

syscoin already have smart contracts, tilecoin already have IoT devices at the 3D printers due to be released monday. the difference is tilecoin only asked for a 160btc and have actual proof of spendings and are professional developers, due to be released on the 14th: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=761852.0

This thread seems to be attracting heat from Tilecoin holders. Don't understand that. I hold Tilecoin, I think it's a very good project. However the focus of BitBay seems to be a much larger ecosystem. So I don't think it is a threat to Tilecoin. In anycase, IOT is going to heat up quickly in the coming year, so there will be alot more IOT  focused projects coming out. No need to get upset about it.

Insofar as the marketcap & ICO, dev, will you be posting some of the dev budget? That would be very interesting to see. My guess is this would indicate both the scope and seriousness of BitBay. In anycase, the ann states that their target is to capture marketshare from some of these dinosaurs like Ebay and Ali Baba. This takes serious capital. I would be more worried about an ICO that was trying to do this with only 800 BTC like some people seem to be suggesting.

One of the problems so far in developing an fucntioning decentralized marketplace has been exactly this - a lack of capital and committed devs. My guess is that this will be how this project will be measured.

I have a problem seeing a real demand for this technology in at least 2-3 years.

I see an interesting and ambitious project here, people are tired of scamming ICOs so it's a difficult time for a 3000BTCs ICO, but I see this coin within top 10 in a month, that means a marketcap of at least 25000BTCs

If you review top10 coins by marketcap you will see that clearly this one has much more to offer than those there, go check yourself the coins with marketcap higher than 3000BTC, lol.

Very articulate dotcoin.  Perhaps you could reveal your trolling motivations.
